I did. I've not seen a flyer though. I've heard through a lady at work that there are a bunch of juvenile delinquents in the neighborhood that call themselves the "Country Lakes Crew". (Clever huh? :lmao: ) Their parents need to get to throttling their little darlings before one goes to the wrong house and winds up with a face full of buckshot. Just a thought.

Ok, just to show no hard feelings I am going to say this....

"PUT UP A FENCE!" HAHAHA!

Seriously though, did the flyer say why the increased violence? Is there some kind of event in the area and where do you guys live St. Mary's?

I have a fence. :neener:

I haven't seen any flyer, and my guess is that there are a ton of unsupervised teens running amuck.

I don't know about the flyer, bf saw it, I didn't. He said it was one put out by the community with other news and also about someone's house burning down and mentioned about the crime rate rising. The neck of the woods is in Mechanicsville. My hope is that these teens eventually grow up and the neighborhood will be more peaceful. But personally, I havn't noticed anything, just the entry way sign was spray painted.

Its so hard to believe that in "our neck of the woods" meaning Southern Calvert and St. Mary's has this crime. After all, people further north see us as "country folk" I think they need to develop more recreational activities for teens. I hear from alot of teens they are just plain bored! I know there is stuff to do in neighboring counties but w/ my son being 17, I hate the thought of him having to drive to Waldorf. I hate driving in Waldorf with all that traffic on 301.

Then again, with teens, regardless of what is thrown up, there are a few that are just not going to be happy with or particpate in controlled social activities. I for one will be glad when summer comes because with the baseball season starting, that will occupy ALOT of my son's time and school baseball will be starting soon as well.

I am anxious to see how the waterpark on Cove point road will contribute to keeping teens busy. I hope it is productive but at times I wonder if they are asking for trouble!

Did anyone read about the kids that detached the train cars in laplata? I cant believe what kids are pulling. They all need a good kick in the tail.
I have a neighbor issue that I have not done anything about yet just cause i dont want to deal with it. Some people bought the house directly behind me and put in a dirt bike track. So all weekend i hear that crap going on plus some week nights. I hate it but i feel like whatever i do will bite me in the butt. I have called the county to see if they cut to many trees down or invaded any streams. but they havent messed up enough back there to bother the county. Then of course they put their dog as close to my property line as possible which parks at all hours.

I would think that a parking dog would be much quieter that the dirt bikes.

I vote for the pellet gun solution. However, make sure you pump it either very few times to just sting the cat, and not penetrate the skin, or, pump it up full and take headshots (shoot to kill). In between you injure the cat, and I do not encourage that. Either sting it or kill it. Do not do something that does lasting pain to the cat.

I would imagine that after stinging the cat a couple of times, it will get the message and leave you and your property alone.

And when you do it blow a whistle at the same time. The cat will start to associate the sound of the whistle with the pain and eventually all you will have to do is whistle:yay:

Spilled antifreeze will kill dogs, because they will eagerly lap it up for its sweet taste. But cats will not be attracted to antifreeze because they do not possess taste buds for sweetness.
Is that why my cats like to lick pudding and cake frosting? I think a cat may try it.

I understand you concern but I am torn. We have a cat that was a rescue as a kitten (found hanging around hubby's office). We had it fixed so we would not add to the population, however it refused to be a totally indoor cat. Gosh knows we tried, but the cat would pee on my clean, folded laundry right in front of me!!! The problem was that it wanted to be able to go out and come in when it wanted to. I know that it roams the neighborhood and luckily we have not gotten any complaints, but what should we have done? Sent it to a shelter where it would eventually be put down? Live with a cat urine on everything we own?
I have the same problem. I know that its better for a cats health to be an inside cat but I CANNOT keep mine in! If I don't let him out he will meow constantly. Then when he gets really pizzed off he will attack and bite me when I'm not looking or he will pee on something right in front of me. At my old house he would pee on top of the kitchen counter if I kept him in. One time he got bitten by another cat and ended up with an abcess on his face, after taking him to the vet, he had to wear one of those "cone" things for about a month. He was also not allowed outside until it was totally healed up. I listened to him meow from morning until night the entire time! It drove me crazy! Sometimes I think it's impossible to keep them inside.
