Im sorry, But i guess im too stoned and illogical to understand your rapeing your neighbor comment. If you mean by doing something illegal in your own home, Maryland still has some strange sodomy laws.

What is to not understand? You defended smoking weed by stating that you did it in your own home, and thus, you see it to be none of anyone elses business. It is illegal. Rape is illegal. What is not to understand? Both are criminal acts, unlike smoking weed and speeding, which is another parallel you tried to draw.

Do I think it's being illegal makes any sense in light of what IS legal, etc? No. They could make it legal tomorrow and I'd applaud the decision, actually, even though I'm not a user.

But that does not change the fact that it IS illegal, and no matter how many excuses you make, or how you try to rationalize it, that doesn't change. You smoke weed, you break the law.

What is really puzzling me, is don't you have to have a clearance to work on military aircraft? And if so, don't you have to sign some sort of statement about drug use? Couldn't that really put your butt in a sling?

And you still try to play it off like it is no big deal.

If he told the investigator he didnt smoke then yes his ass can be fined and be sent to jail for a federal crime (lieing to the investigator)

Ive been working on Webster Field for 7 years and have never been tested. I was however tested to work at Walmart when I worked there for the few months I was there.

Isn't that crazy? I've done a LOT of contract IT and design work, and it always seems like the less complex / sensitive positions are the ones you get tested for. :confused:

Ok, smokeing weed is illegal. We got that coverd. At this point I really wish I had left that comment about it out in the beginning. Guess I was being a little silly there. But this thread has gotten to be way too much fun! I wanted to leave it alone, but some of it is way too interesting.
Only thing im confused on at this point is what degree I should go for, thinking engineering with my background, and what to do with this old couch here. If any of you fine people here could use a fold out bed couch you can hit me up, and we could pass a blunt and discuss the finer points of being a criminal! lol

-Oh yeah, youd have to bring some, Its been dry around here for a few weeks now. :(

Also, once again, my leaving the company has nothing to do with illegal drug use. It has everything to do with me haveing a siezure disorder and my doctor explaining that I cannot "stand at hieghts" use ladders and be on top of aircraft. I feel that this is the wake up call I should have taken into count about haveing seizures and doing this type of work. Oh well, I find the prospect of going back to school rather exciting. Maybe Ill fianally learn to spell! :smile:

I heard some guy from DynCorp who smokes weed fell off a plane after having some medical issue woke up in a hospital wondering where he was only to find a laptop placed on his bed so he could b**** about the injustice of the free world and his employer.

If you don't like where you are....go somewhere else. Nut up and jump. Follow your heart and do something that's going to make you happy. Might require a big change in how you live but from my experience it's worth it.

I never fell off a plane, I fell off a picnic table actually lol, it still hurt though...

You'll be fine. Just don't drink the Kool Aid. The only thing that traps us is the illusion that we're "fine" as long as the check keeps coming in. My dad told me a long, long time ago to find a job I loved and build my life around it. Being the Einstein I am I did jus the opposite and am paying the emotional dues now. I'd rather have a small house, a smaller paycheck outside of the arena I'm working in and re-building a couple of bikes a month.

Just saying!

Thats gay. Everyone should have to do a piss test. I think the swab is only good if you have smoked within a few days whereas the piss is up to a month.

That is what i was thinking. A swab will only tell if they smoked right before work.

Wow, really. Tomcatter should know better, self incrimination and implieing your buds at work are doing it too, wow not good. Their are instruction on line on how to beat urine and saliva drug test, some of those workers might need to read up on that.

Are you an f'ing moron? You want someone who could be impaired working on a multi-billion $$ aircraft? If the pilot in that seat was your brother, would you feel differently? Or that UAV that crashes into a school due to a floor-worker's mistake?
