Another shopping center?

In Weds. Enterprise a story about a proposed shopping center to go in the most convienient spot in St. Mary's...the intersection of St. Andrew's Church Rd and 235. McKay is willing to resort to "eminent domain" to get the land to make this happen. UFB! I'm glad I'm moving out to the 7th.

What say you fellow forumites?

Well, I don't live up there, and I'm not a country person. I like big cities and all that. That being said, I do think that it should be up to the residents of the area as to what's being put up. Have like a town hall meeting and if the people say no, then no shopping center.

Ha! hahaha! That won't happen. The county commissioners or money will be heard, not the people.

Hello New Waldorf!

Last I heard, that is where Home Depot (which I can't wait for) wants to go. Better than the whitetrashwifekillingpoorpeople that currently live in the trailer park there now.

For those of you that can't figure it out this early in the A.M., the last part was a joke.

 But they've only had a couple of traffic stopping hostage standoffs there this year.

Oh great - that's fabulous. Really, that intersection could use more traffic flow! :duh:

What about all that empty land all around the Lowe's/Target shopping centers. Are they ever going to finish that? Why don't they finish that before they start another one??

We need a new movie theatre!

The land in between Target and Kmart is getting a shopping center also.

I have to agree with AC/DC. Facelifting doesn't change the demographics. Yesterday I had a meeting in that general area, and realized I'd have to lock the car when I got out - something I haven't had to do elsewhere in the county, except perhaps at the Leonardtown Shopping Center.

I know of 4 major construction projects in the area.

1. The area between Target & Kmart. I figured that was where the Ross & Best Buy were going???
2. A Home Depot that was supposed to go in Wildwoode. I haven't seen the site though.
3. Lusby Town Center - there's a huge building going behind the post office, but I'm not sure what it's going to be.
4. Lusby Town Center - There's also another huge building going in the cleared land between the Woman's Fitness Center and the Bank of America - not sure what that is, either. All I know is that somewhere in that complex is supposed to be a Giant Foods.
