That in itself explains so much about you.
I have sat in on many so-called investment seminars and the 1st thing you should be aware of is that you are talking to a salesman.

Why didn't you answer my last post on bladder tanks? Appears you are not as bright as you think you are.

Used car saleman, I've been to investment seminars, now give investment advice... lol
Get a Maryland license sport.

How to become a registered investment advisor in Maryland?

Becoming a Financial Advisor in Maryland
  1. Get Your Education. Get the right degree. ...
  2. Step 2: Register Your Firm in Maryland. ...
  3. Step 3: Get Your Registered Investment Adviser License in Maryland by Taking the Required Exam. ...
  4. Step 4: Ongoing Renewal and Update Requirements in Maryland.

I have a guy that I pay to do my investments.
And one of us has two Trade Journeymen cards, the other has none.
The mentality to endlessly put air in a broken bladder tank in a basement or dirt crawlspace is laughable, most homeowners don't have a hand pump much less an air compressor and the knowledge to do it correctly.
It's the same mindset as putting 70W motor oil in a crankcase to stop it from burning oil so you can sell it.

Finances are complicated, like car repair, home improvement projects, healthcare. You are paying a fee to a company to manage this for you, the other option is do it yourself but you clearly have no interest in it, otherwise you’d have figured it out long ago.

I find the topic fascinating and to me it can’t be ignored, nearly all of life problems can be tracked down to money, or the lack of money. Having a grip of how it works makes everything in life so much easier.

Personally I’d say you’re doing the right thing for someone in your situation, get different proposals, do a comparison, and then be done with it and don’t listen to folks who second guess it.

Some people rent apartments their whole life, or only lease cars, there will always be someone out there judging your choices.

Just sneakin' around....
Does anyone have any suggestions as who to talk to,Edward Jones ,Fidelity????
I've been very happy with Edward Jones. Yes, they do have higher fees, but they take the time to make sure you're in the right plan, make your goals, and if there is a REAL problem with the market, take steps to minimize any losses. I rolled over my company 401K into one of their plans back in 2015 when I retired. Since then, my account has grown by nearly half a million, not including the original investment. Would have been MUCH MUCH higher, but the losses we took after Jan 2022 (thank you Biden...) took a huge chunk out of the savings.

This is not a promotion for them, just personal experience. It would do you well to go visit and talk with them, as well as others, and see if they fit your future planning.

Forgot to mention too, that since 2015 I've been taking $30k a year out of that account for "income". If I hadn't, the balance would be substantially higher.

You really are not too bright, however keep spouting your drivel I find it quite entertaining.
If you are paying someone to do your investments for you are either stupid or lazy except for exotic investments it is quite easy to do your own.

Kinnakeet is talking about giving over $800,000 to a company giving him a paltry 3% per year payout for life. All I am saying there are better ways to put his money to work without giving control away not to mention the fees that come with setting up an annuity and having less money to pass on to his heirs, if YOU had a half a brain you possibly could have figured that out on your own. Most if not all financial advisers are not going to mention what I have said because there is no money to be made on them unless you have a flat rate advisor.

They still make captive air tanks without bladders in them so obviously someone is smarter than you. Also, the instructions are readily available on the internet if you take the time to look.

If all you have are journeyman cards and you are over 30 you are a failure my boy.

No one watches over your money or your children better than you, that is a fact little one.

Kudos to you for a job well done! Some folks on here could learn quite a bit from your success.

You folks are deranged, EVERYTHING is politics with you. The market is significantly higher than in 2022, is that Biden too?

I’m sitting back with smug satisfaction that Edward Jones is taking you to the cleaners and you think you’re getting a deal! What a company

I'm 66 and been retired. Mr Carl has made my family and myself lots of money over the past 40 years.
I have better things to do with my time, like old motorcycles, sailing, machine guns and living life.
I know this used car salesman, you can't beat a man at his own game.

Edit,
Let me know when you have earned 30+ years of a Union Pension, 30 yrs of United Tech 401K, a $10.10 per worked hour, company paid Annuity plan and a nice SS check.
Now hustle out there son, and sell a hooptie.
