Right, and the publisher of the Zagat guide, who frequents restaurants, and writes about them, says that between 15% and 20% is appropriate. To me that says that if I feel like tipping 15%, that's okay. And if I feel like tipping 20%, that's okay too. Who decides what you're supposed to tip?elaine said:Same article:

That tells me that the survey was asking what the customer typically tips, not what they’re supposed to tip.
