That is your opinion. I do not necessarily agree. If you look at the bottom of the credit slip they sign it figures the amounts from 10% _ 20%. So if you think they should start at 20% what is the upper % then?
well what do you think you deserve when you know that you've provided good service?

You don't deserve anything. You get what you get. There is no guarantee or promise that you will even get a tip. It's a courtesy.

people just need to take good care of thier server when they get good service..its that simple!!!

And what you fail to understand is that you don't have any say in it. It's that simple.

No, I'm not a bad tipper. I'm a generous tipper. You don't need to get catty just because I don't agree with you. I spent the better part of my life working in hospitality. Everything from washing dishes to management. You are wrong.

Eh, if only I were in to :gossip:...

BUT, if you wanted to find an image of the biggest loud mouth crass pig you could find, perhaps wallowing in sh!t, it might express my personal feelings of the man...

 But, the food is good..

His wife used to be pretty cool, but he's taken her down the crapper w/ him.

Yes, I have been a server, and I've raked in the dough doing it. Generous is 20% or better. 15% indicates that my service was good and my customer was satisfied with my efforts. 10% indicates that maybe my customer doesn't make a lot of money, and probably doesn't go out much. It was probably a special treat for the significant other. Maybe a birthday or anniversary dinner. Anything less than that indicates that I failed in some fashion to make that customers evening enjoyable and that I need to evaluate what I may have done wrong.

However, I never expect any amount. I know that if I only make 10% on one table that someone else will make up for it with their generosity.

You just sound stingy.

well we agree on one thing:eek:ur idea of generous. like I said earlier 15% is ok.
10% is not. If I don't have enough money to pay for my food AND tip,I simply don't go out to eat. Its not fair to the server...we are there to make $$$$$
Im not stingy either, Im the the best tipper when it comes to tipping out busboys, expos, etc.... I appreciate thier help so I take good care of them
