*not going to say it*MysticalMom said:Id' love to learn to ride a motorcycle. I rode my grandads little dirt bike all around his farm when I was a kid. Here's my problem. I'm short. 5'1". The DH has a 2005 Harley 1200 custom Sportster (Pretty small as far as Harleys are concerned no?)) and my toes barely touch the ground. (Not to mention it's kinda heavy) Any suggestions?

I'm being nice, but we have SEVERAL females, some being of small stature, that ride in the club I'm a member of. Many husband and wife teams that each ride their own bike, and they are all 1150 or 1200cc machines. Adjustable to fit any frame.. I'm 6 3 and have met women riding the same bike a foot shorter.MysticalMom said:ya lost me.

Most, some start out on the F650, but usually trade up within 6 months, the more confident ones go straight for the 1150, as they are told this up front, that if they buy the 650 they will be back in short time to trade up. This year there is a new 800 coming out that will be a better first bike that they may make it a year before wanting to trade up. The last Tech day I went to there were five women there, 2 on the 1150 R, one on her husbands 1200GS (she owns a 1150CL) one on the 1150RS (she was in her 60's so not sure what her first bike was) and one on the RT. The ONLY one I know of that started on a smaller bike was one of the women on the 1150Raps45819 said:Their FIRST bike?
Bob's BMW is a lot easier to "adjust". The Harley would require replacing the seat, shocks and sliding the forks up in the triple clamp.MysticalMom said:And the old man didn't tell me he could adjust it.

 You buy a Harley and you've got more dollars then sense anywaysitsbob said:$$$$$
Guy at the MSF course said it cost him $600 just for a taller seat for his Harley.. Couldn't comprehend an adjustable seat.
