Hopefully there will not be a next time but if so then I will call the sheriffs department and atleast report it. Yeah posting here was just probably more to vent then to strike awareness cause I am sure most of those guys do not read the forums anyway.

How would you know? Take your animal rights activism crap and go blow it up someone elses a$$....

If you need to ##### at anyone, complain to the county about all the dead deer on the side of the road. Its not to job of an average citizen to clean up a deer carcas after it was creamed by a vehicle.

And if so, you would see more guys on the side of the road hacking them up just to dispose of them. Have you ever tried to lift a dead deer into the back of a pick up..... They are just a tad bit heavy....

I don't understand why this is a problem. I saw several dead deer on the side of the road yesterday, but didn't stop to examine their wounds.

Animals4life-just curious, are you a vegetarian or vegan? If not, you know that the meat you eat doen't just come from the grocery store all nice and packaged. It was an animal once too.
From what I gathered, he/she is upset about the fact that the animal's head was being cut off on the side of the road, in plain sight of young children. I'd probably be pretty upset about that too, and I eat venison all the time.

You should have stopped and asked what he was doing and if you could watch, you know turn it into an educational experience for yourself and your nieces instead of the horrible traumatic one that it was.
Well, I reckon you and BS Gal are gonna put lights up for the holidays, huh...:bubble:

What are you trying to say, hunters are too dumb to use the internet? Remove your head from your posterior, and remember that we are on the top of the food chain. Oh, and stop traumatizing your kids. The only reason that they freak out at the sight of a dead deer is YOUR reaction to it. In a lot of families, the kids are helping to butcher deer, livestock, etc., and they are certainly not traumatized by it.

Spending the day with my nieces on Saturday what do we see in plain view while driving but a dead headless deer on the side of the road. My 2 nieces ages 3 and 6 were just screaming and asking me all kinds of questions as to why there was a dead deer on the side of the road with no head. And if that was not enough later that same day we were headed South on 235 when right on the side of the road, almost to the Exploration buildings stands a guy in camouflage holding a deer's head in one head and was sawing with a hacksaw with the other either at the antlers or the head. Now that sight really got the 1 niece screaming. Bad enough the barbaric redneck in his little red Dodge Neon wanted a trophy but to do it on the side of the road in plain view for those little girls to see just really P***ed me off! So to the dumb*** I saw and all the others out there who do this have enough common courtesy to do it where little kids and others do not have to fall witness!!

Take your sheltered whining ass back to the rock you're posting from under. :duh:

What is wrong with sawing a deer's antlers off once it is already dead? Call the cops? Please, I saw a cop doing it on the side of the road a few years ago. Listen you are not in the city, if you want to avoid all the icky deer carcuses on the side of the road MOVE!

What do the kids think when they see a deer smeared all over the road with a huge blood stain and intestines strewn across several lanes of traffic? Why not just explain it to them?

People amaze me, move to the country and then complain when they see people doing country things. When my grandmother was young growing up in SOMD she would cut the heads of chickens and slaughter other farm animals as part of her chores well before her 10th birthday. But thankfully back then people like you didn't exist.

I think she misinterpreted what she saw. I can't think of a reason that a hunter would only take the head. If someone was an idiot enough to do that just for a trophy I'd think they would do it somewhere less public. Wasting a deer like that would pi$$ off most hunters to the point of an roadside a$$ kicking.

That's interesting. So bucks are actually curious enough to see what is going on? I never knew that.

When a buck hears two other bucks going at it, they figure a female is somehow involved, and they try to sneak up and pick her up while the other two bucks are pummelling each other.

I used to do something similar when I was single.

When I was in grade school here in the early 80's I can remember going on a field trip to a farm here in Calvert where we witnessed day to day farm activites. Including some butchering of a pig, seem pretty normal to everyone and no one reacted outrageously about it other the a couple of typical ewwws from the girls.

O well back to your regularly scheduled pussification of America.

Thanks! I knew there would be a few logical ones in the bunch...you gathered correctly. All I was saying was it should not be done on the side of the road. And to just answer everyone elses post in a nutshell, I am a county girl born and raised, I am not a vegan and I have even eaten venison and also have supported people who hunt. I do realize that the deer population has to be controlled by hunting and all that other stuff. I know seeing dead deer on the side of the road is also not pleasant and many have caused serious accidents as a result of them being struck. I also know why the one dear was headless and why the guy was sawing the antlers off of the other one. I just think that it is not an appropriate sight for the roadside.

Well, if two bucks are fighting it's about a doe. Guess what the
non-combatant thinks he could get away with while the other
two are fighting? Right, the doe.
Gee, why didn't someone explain this right away? :lmao:

Born and raised in a housing development, doesn't make you a county girl. :duh:

All be it, Jim Billy should have taken the deer into the woods to do his deed.
