Growing up in similar environment and being a hunter, I don't think I would have thought anything about seeing someone cutting atlers, or even gutting a deer by the road. As kids we butchered and packaged our own meat (pork or beef). When I learned to hunt my mother taught me how to clean peasant, rabbit, etc.
Exactly, you would have interpreted what you saw correctly instead of reacting in a horrified manner. That is why they should have stopped to get a little education. Real world. By the way, we didn't have peasants where we were, are they good?

Oh yeah? Wait till you are sitting next to an Amish buggy on your motorcycle and the horse decides to dump 5 feet from you. I think it's the sound of it hitting the pavement that gets me. :lmao:
In Jamaica we rode horses into the ocean. The horse next to mine pooped in the water. I think some of it might have touched my leg. :jameo:

I think it's pretty insensitive of horses to just take a dump on the side of the road. You know I have to see that stuff.

I think cow poop on the side of the road is much worse. :jameo: :killingme

Cow poop in the middle of the road. Cows pooped on my shoes when I left them out to dry while I was out camping.

I don't understand why this is a problem. I saw several dead deer on the side of the road yesterday, but didn't stop to examine their wounds.
you were out of "Bambi" band-aids again, weren't you?

But it was where the best cow tipping was. :yay:
:killingme That's right, guess I forgot about the afterhours entertainment. In that case, you picked the best spot. Be thankful there was no bullshait in your shoes!!

I also know why the one dear was headless and why the guy was sawing the antlers off of the other one. I just think that it is not an appropriate sight for the roadside.

It's possible we jumped on you little quick, but it really sounded like you were gonna be one of the nutty, panicky PETA types that show up on this board from time to time. And if you knew why he was sawing off antlers, why did you state that he was after a trophy, and then ask what rattling is?

Nickel, my mother was a country girl in a family of all girls. My grandfather hunted and my mother or one of her sisters cleaned the game. They also helped in butchering the hogs and cattle. You did what you had to do back then. My mother would have a pheasant gutted, plucked, cut up and in the skillet a hell of alot faster than I could.

I think she was saying she learned why that was being done. We should give her the benifit of the doubt and a lollypop for starting an interesting thread. (to me anyway) She's been a pretty good sport.
