Best Burger you've ever eaten..

Surely you jest ...
Where did you get it and is the place still there? Area?

The best burger I ever ate was at Hamilton Bros Crab House in Waldorf, back road off 301 across from Curleys Bowling Alley. Long gone I think. My parents were seafood eaters so in season we were there often. Traveling from D.C.

They were juicy, thick, done but never dry made from fresh meat, not frozen patties. *sigh* Full of flavor, no condiments were needed. I did get cheese though. :)

Mine. On my grill. Little bit of olive oil, burned just right on the outside, pink in the middle.

80/20 ground beef. No soup mix or anything else in it. Just cow.

My grill is filthy and adds the perfect smoke, every time. I also flip them, a lot.

I like home grilled the best but in a pinch, I like the burgers at Red Robin. I admit when I go out to a restaurant I usually try to order something I wouldn't or don't make at home so I don't order a lot of burgers.

The Bomber Burger in Wichita, KS. Real $hit hole shack for the locals. If you walked in and wasn't a local the place would stop and stare at you. The cook would literly say "WTF you want?". Once they knew we were miltary at the Boeing Facility we were in. Best thickest greazzyest burger I have ever had.

2 places:

First would be the Napa Valley Burger from Bobby's Burger Palace, Bobby Flay's burger restaurant. Even if it was just the burger and no toppings, it'd still be one of my tops. The burger itself was just phenomenal quality, I usually order mine rare and this thing was just perfect. I can't wait to find another excuse to trek up to Arundel Mills and save up carbs an entire week so I can enjoy that burger and the amazing onion rings and fries (roommate and I usually split side orders) that he serves with this out-of-this-world roasted red pepper mayo-based dipping sauce. The whole meal is an experience. I'm  now just thinking about it....

Second, I used to live near this famed little hole in the wall in Meriden, CT Ted's Restaurant It's been featured on Food Network a couple times. But this dinky little place, right in the ghetto of Meriden mind you, claims to have created the "Steamed Cheeseburger". Now I normally like them rare, and steaming them is automatically well-done, they're only served one way...but this steamed thing still keeps these huge burgers incredibly juicy and crazy flavorful. He keeps it super simple, all it needs is some cheese but it's still one of the best burgers I've ever had. He served these with a side of crispy home fries :yahoo: I do miss that place.

Burgers are one of my favorite things to eat....ever :blushing:

A burger to me is a throwaway meal. You just get it because nothing else on the menu looks good, or you grab it at the drive-thru and wolf it on the way somewhere.

I like White Castle and I love loose meat like you get in the midwest at Tastee and Maid-Rite. I also like Steak n' Shake. Other than that a burger isn't something I'd go out of my way for.

A burger is usually what I get on the menu if:

1. Someone else is paying, and it's usually the cheapest item on the menu that has something like meat in it. And your host really doesn't have as deep a pocket as he thinks.

2. I'm not really hungry enough to waste stomach space on food I'm not interested in eating. I'm not going to order the prime rib when I know I'm only biting two or three bits of it.

So sometimes, I agree with you.

I would kill someone - in front of their own mamma - for a Steak N Shake Frisco melt right about now.

And if anybody testifies against me, I'll gouge their eyes out.

So intense that I had to look this one up. Real burger and on sourdough
bread? Oh my...
