Best Burger you've ever eaten..

Fast food is a tie between Whataburger and Jeff's Burgers at the mall. Jeff's just might have the edge there. Non-fast food would be anywhere in New Mexico because they put green chile on their burgers and just about everything else!

OMGGGG I forgot about Whataburger......

It's not crazy special but it is REALLY good for a fast food burger. We always stop in when we visit the grandparents in Texas. Like, usually it's the first thing we find after exiting the airport :killingme

When my brother was about 6/7, he had to write an essay for school about fun things he'd done during his summer break. We'd visited TX that summer and his entire essay was all about Whataburger :lmao:

His teacher was slightly concerned

I actually have a jar of green chili sauce from New Mexico in the fridge now. My aunt lives in Albequerque and sends it each year for Christmas. It is awesome!

That is the FIRST place I thought of when I saw this thread! Man - it's been years, but I can still conjure up the goodness of that burger, at that spot. :buddies:

And to anyone (who eats beef) who says a burger is just a burger when there's nothing else to have, you've just never had a truly good burger.

Actually, for anyone who remembers back when Twin Kiss in La Plata was really Twin Kiss, their burgers were hand pressed daily and worth anticipating the reopening each spring. Not the best burgers, but definitely darn good.

I KNOW that no one wants to hear/read this, but I've had a darn good burger from Chili's in the past too... I know, I know :lalala:

To me a good burger is not about toppings, it's about the meat. Grilled, buttered and toasted bun, seasoned lightly. Then you slap on whatever you want, or nothing at all. If your favorite burger is something with bacon and jalapenos and jack cheese and avocado and sauce and mushrooms - now you're talking about your favorite toppings, not your favorite burger.

I tend to like my burgers with cheese, ketchup, pickle, and mustard. Sometimes lettuce and tomato, but not usually.

I am so very blessed
It would never occur to me to go to a restaurant to order a burger.

I think in the past 10 years I have been to 5 Guys like four or five times, but that was because Bob wanted a burger.

I just don't like burgers all that much.

I prefer a burger with salt, pepper, brown mustard and a toasted bun (preferrably not some cheap wonderbread bun). Maybe some cheese. I'm the same way about a steak. Salt, pepper, grilled perfectly and maybe a small pat of herbed butter; but that's not necessary.

Surely you jest ...

Thats why RR bacon cheeseburger stands on its own. Flavor, its all about the meat and prep.

I'm the opposite, I like the whole gestalt, have they got the right mix of ingredients in the right proportion.

A burger to me is a throwaway meal. You just get it because nothing else on the menu looks good, or you grab it at the drive-thru and wolf it on the way somewhere.

I like White Castle and I love loose meat like you get in the midwest at Tastee and Maid-Rite. I also like Steak n' Shake. Other than that a burger isn't something I'd go out of my way for.

I would kill someone - in front of their own mamma - for a Steak N Shake Frisco melt right about now.

And if anybody testifies against me, I'll gouge their eyes out.

Still have yet to try this place and there are two not too far from my house.

That is why I liked the Fatted Calf burgers, they mixed seasonings in the meat, not just on top. You could eat it with no toppings and it was delicious by itself!

The burgers are pretty amazing and the shakes are like Sonic with all the weird flavors.

Booo, I was sick in bed most of the day and my husband went on a bike ride with his buddies. When he got home he had a soda cup from Steak and Shake. I asked him how his burger was, he said "just okay".

I like steak and shake, the burgers are good but leave me still hungry. The incredibly skinny fries could be thicker in my opinion. They are actually cheaper to eat at than McDonalds.
