Usually $5 and some change buys you a nice meal. Every S&S I've been to is clean and well run too, way more than I can say for McDonalds. I did break the toilet at one in NC though...

I like to get burgers at steakhouses where they cook them to your liking.... I like med. rare and just some cheese, bacon, ketchup and mayo/mustard. That's kind of hard to find now days, most places char the hell out of them (aka med. well) If steak or burgers are med. well, I see no point in bothering to try and saw through it. :shrug:

The best burger I ever ate was at Hamilton Bros Crab House in Waldorf, back road off 301 across from Curleys Bowling Alley. Long gone I think. My parents were seafood eaters so in season we were there often. Traveling from D.C.

They were juicy, thick, done but never dry made from fresh meat, not frozen patties. *sigh* Full of flavor, no condiments were needed. I did get cheese though. :)

"CaliBurger, a California-style burger joint with locations in Asia and the Middle East, will establish a U.S. headquarters in the D.C. area after securing a new round of equity financing, according to a statement from the company.

CaliBurger plans to open its first American eatery by the end of this year. It's unclear where the first U.S. location will be, although a map on the restaurant's website lists D.C. and Los Angeles locations as "coming soon." CaliBurger is operating in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Guangzhou in China and lists other coming-soon locations in London, Stockholm, Sweden, Kuwait, Bahrain, Dubai and Manila, Phillipines."
