:huggy: We recently lost a beagle to Lymphoma that was on Flint River Ranch primarily the last 4 years of his 12 year life.

I feed the dogs Taste of the Wild, and the cats too.

My Granddog LOVES Taste of the Wild, but Meatball doesn't like it anymore.

I do them in the oven, following these rough instructions:

1.Preheat oven to about 375
2. Use about 1 salad spinner’s worth of kale (usually about 1/2 of a bunch that you'd get at the grocery store). Tear the leaves off the thick stems into bite size pieces. Spread out on cookie sheet(s).
3. Drizzle with about 2 tsp of olive oil
4. Sprinkle with Parmesan, Asiago or your seasonings of choice. Plus a sprinkle of kosher salt.
5. Bake for about 15 minutes, until edges are brown and kale is crispy when moved in pan.

I usually season with Tony Chachere's and only give the dog pieces that don't have much if any seasoning on them. But let's be honest, he likes to eat snotty tissues so a little cajun seasoning isn't going to hurt. :lmao: If you do it right, they sort of have the crunch/feel of pringles - a lot lighter than you would expect from such a hearty green. They really are good.

Ok tried this last night, I am impressed. I am not a veggie eater and I "kinda" liked these. I only used the parmesan cheese, so next time I think some garlic, salt & pepper would put these over the top. Never in my mind did I think I would ever eat kale that was not in a stuffed ham!
I know the dogs will like this also as they have been eating the kale raw.

You beat me to it, I have been to McKay's twice this week and I kept forgetting to get kale. Could you explain "kinda" though?

Kinda = it's a veggie and it usually takes a bit for me to like them. I like some veggies only with a cheese sauce or sauted in butter & garlic. But I will make this again cuz it is something that I would eat. It bakes up crunchy and sorta like an air chip thingie (hard to explain). Hubby really liked them.

Glad you like them! I definitely think they need a little salt to capture the essence of a chip. I think they have the slightest bitter aftertaste, but it's no big deal and I'll take that vs the shame associated with eating half a can of Pringles. Pringles are my weakness. :lmao:

There's a big display of them just inside the entrance to the Waldorf Wal-Mart
