Breast Feeding a No No

This has to be one of the dumbest threads ever on SoMD.com. The legality, morality, or sensibility of breastfeeding shouldn't even be a topic of discussion. It is one of the most natural things ever.

I remember 15 years ago, when a new mother at work requested a private setting for 20 minutes each day to pump her breasts. The only available space was the conference room, so she was granted use of that every day at noon. (Not like there were a lot of conferences waiting in line.) The moronic boss said to everyone, "Why can't she just use the bathroom?" I lost my sh!t and screamed at him, "She is making her baby's dinner! Are you THAT stupid?" (He was.)

Huzzah to women who feed their children the way nature intended!!! And screw the blue noses who see the female body as dirty and/or sexual even within the most beautiful context.

And for every forumite who thinks we went to war in Iraq for oil, let me remind you that Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale and his friends at (Swiss-based) Nestle and (Minnesota-based) Cargill have been polluting the third world for over 50 years with propaganda denigrating breastfeeding so they can sell their sh!tty soy-based formula.

Lighten up Francis... We should have known the La Leche Nipple Nazis were going to show up sooner or later. In typical humourless scolding style (and complete with big business conspiracy paranoia!) we all get a dose of "breastfeeding shouldn't even be a topic of discussion." Got that? We shouldn't even discuss it, no conflicing ideas please! Shush now everyone, the Great Godess of Breastfeeding has spoken!

Would you feel the same if some 300 lb woman lifted her shirt and slapped one squaling kid on a teat while the other boob was dragging in her pankacakes.

... and you were sitting in the next booth trying to eat?

What? One post, way back when, where I voice disapproval of the overly tattooed and pierced crowd and I'm not only a humorless drudge but crazy? Sheesh keep up ok? I'm a regular comedienne. :smooch:

Thirty-nine states have laws with language specifically allowing women to breastfeed in any public or private location (Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wyoming).

Yeah, and fifty states have laws against public nudity and public lewdness. That's why you don't see too many women letting men fondle their boobs in public!!!!!!!!!!!:jerry:

The incident actually took place in November 2003, and the restaurant is raising the question of whether or not the statute of limitations has passed. In court documents, Ruby Tuesday admits one of its managers spoke with Olsen, but denies her other claims.
