By looking at this tread, it is apparent that Mel will live for many years to come in the hearts and minds of all of us. She was a great person to know and absolutely wonderful to be around. She loved DR with everything she was and had.

She fought a great fight to give him and the rest of us more time to enjoy her infectious personality and get one more laugh with(or at) her. She gave us courage to go on another day, showing us that "you might have it bad, but some of us have a bald head"(her quote).

I will miss my "lesbian biker chic" and know I am a better person for knowing, loving, and being loved by such a very special individual.

Mmmm...some would disagree.

She "fought" with me and got "banned"(to her moms with no internet so she couldn't post) and we had pandora/kizzy/whoeversheisnow think that she got us to make up :killingme

I think you yelled at both of us for PM'ing each other the entire time

She will certainly be missed by anyone that ever met her.
Only met her once in person, but her laugh and her smile were infectious.

I have never known anyone to go through what she must have been going through for the last year and still keep such a positive attitude.

I have been wondering where you were, as I know you were one of her closest friends.

Hope you are doing okay.

Vrai, YES we do! I swear I heard her voice in my sleep last night. I think she was laughing at me and I don't think it was at a joke.:lmao:

I read this tread and bawled throughout. Mel touched so many lives in so many ways. I only met her a few times irl, but each time she was absolutely wonderful to me. The last time I saw her was at the ZZ Top concert and she came up to me and hugged me like we'd known each other forever and then she and DeeJay spent the rest of the night laughing at me because I didn't know all the songs. That makes me smile thinking about it.

She will be missed by all whose lives she has touched. Love to you DR, her family, her close friends and those of us on the forums who feel the loss.

~LEGS FOR DAYS~
After reading this thread I can tell she was a wonderful person. DR, I am so sorry for your loss. I did not have the pleasure of meeting her IRL, but like everyone else has said, her posts spoke volumes. My continued thoughts and prayers are with you DR, her family, & friends :huggy:

I never met Melanie but so enjoyed following her story of learning to ride a motorcycle, you teasing her about her tp stash, the rearview mirror controversy, etc. Anyone could tell from her posts that she had great warmth, heart and spirit.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Desertrat, I never had the opportunity to meet Melanie, but enjoyed her posts very much and felt that she was a friend even though we did not personally know each other. I admired her for the dignity and grace she showed while fighting her battle. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures with us and allowing me to put a face with her name.

:buddies: to Mel.

:yeahthat: I couldn't have said it better. I haven't logged on in quite a while and had no clue.... I am so very sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss as well. I only met Melanie twice, but her enthusiasm was so infectious as to make her instantly memorable. I didn't know she had left us but will be pegs down for her on my next missions. She will be missed.

We need to get her ashes down to Nags Head so she'll stop haunting us.

Oregon Inlet actually. Bring 4x4, I'll have the other devices that are nice to have. Tow ropes, shovels, boards, air pumps . etc.

:jameo:

Did anyone mention sausage cheese bread, yet?

Ahh! :yikes:

:yum:

I have her recipe
