If I may ...
If I may ...

I'm not trying to be the boss of anybody. I'm taking precautions. I might have a medical condition that lowers my immune system, you don't know. You don't know everything.
You mentioned in another thread you were sheltered in place in Texas. You can't possibly be sheltered in place, I thought you were going to lead the revolution against this hoax. Anyone on here saying people should revolt is a joke. I see no one taking any action except spouting off on a forum. Oh yea, someone said they were going to revolt by going fishing last week. That's a real radical move.
If you do have a medical condition, then stay the eff home. It is not upon the healthy to worry about your health. Spouting off? When went fishing on my boat and caught some nice perch, Tasssstey! People are out and about damn everyday! EVERY DAY! Lines to get into Lowes, Ace, cars going up and down the roads, etc., etc., etc.. People are doing things. I drive past, and see, "law enforcement" everyday. And so far? Not one could have given a rats ass that I drove by. Live free or die mitzi. Live free or Die!

Just how is she supposed to know who is diseased or ill, are they supposed to wear a sign? You could be beside someone in line with active TB, nobody would know. Isn't it taking away their civil liberties to ban them from businesses (i.e. Pharmacy).
Life? Freedom? Liberty? All are risky. Quit being a coward. We all die. Every last one of us will die. Accept it. Some sooner than others. Sad, yes. If you have something to live for, someone to live for, then go live it. Live it to the fullest. To hell with tyrannical dictates. Be free. If you get fall ill, I hope you recover. If you don't? I'll see you on the other side when my time comes. Until that time though? I am living as a free man.

You didn't answer my question.

You can't know. (TB). Unless you're standing next to a lunger hacking blood into his hand. That why it's called life, and freedom, and liberty. Neither are without risk. If "you" fear catching an illness, or disease, then by all means either stay at home, or wear a mask when you go out. But if others do not want to, then that is their choice and right. And if someone catches an illness while out while not wearing a mask? That is the price of life, freedom, and liberty. A consequence, that that person must deal with. It's simple, really. How do "you" want to live? Free? Or under some authoritarian's rule?

I will wear one in the store. I wore one to my doctor appointment the other day. They suggested it. I wore it because I could be carrying the virus and I wouldn't want to spread it to the people in her office. I can be considerate of others.
If you choose not to, that's fine with me. I don't care.
Why am I the one on here catching hell because I'm following the precautions?

I would guess that everybody here is following the precautions, but nobody likes it.

This whole situation is unhappy times -- whether warranted or not, and it's putting people on the edge.

Loss of individual liberties exacerbated by the government officials visibly gloating at the control they suddenly got, fear for the economic state of our country, and sudden realization that people closest to you (coworkers, neighbors, etc) are subservient fascism enabling douches.

Discussions here are getting more heated (and thus, you "catching h*ll") are not due to (IMHO) any animosity between posters, but are just a sign of boiled up tension and fear of where this is all leading.

Nobody here knows anything for sure, and people react differently in the absence of concrete information and build their own (divergent) sand castles of opinions and theories, with arguments over whose castle is the best.

This too shall pass. Let's all stay friends.

I agree. I don't particularly like wearing a mask, but, for the safety of myself and others, I will do so. Its like any other mandate, you have those who rebel. There is a law that states you must wear a seat belt when riding in or operating a vehicle, I remember so many people, who lost it because the government was impeding on their rights, even though it was proven, wearing a seat belt saved lives. Its a mandate to help stop the spread of the virus, again to help save lives. Those who refuse to wear one in grocery stores, pharmacies, etc, will not be allowed entry into the store. Its to protect the workers who have to report to work. Its a preventative, thats all, just a preventative. If someone doesnt want to wear the mask, the police are not going to give you a ticket or arrest you, unless, you break the law and try to enter a store. Look at it this way, how many times have you seen the signs on the doors of businesses, Shoes and Shirts must be worn. No Pets Allowed. Now, its a Mask Must Be Worn for Admittance. Same Concept.

She may have authority to stop diseased, or known ill, people from entering businesses, btw, aka, quarantining! But no authority whatsoever mandating private persons who are not diseased, or ill, to wear a mask, nor to tell businesses who can, or cannot, enter their establishments, unless that person wanting to enter is known to be diseased or ill. Bitch needs to be fired.

I'd disagree that the Health Dept doesn't have the authority to stop the spread of a communicable virus. It says she can do anything needed in the law referenced.

Either way, she's not forcing you to wear a mask. She's not forcing anyone to wear a mask. She's just saying that if you want to use public spaces outlined in the Order, wear a mask. It's no different than saying we don't want your (the royal "your") anti-vaxxer kids in school spreading Measles to everyone.

Yes, but...I want to die like my grandfather did...peacefully sleeping.

And not screaming in terror like all the passengers in his car.

Right, but it's not the government's business to save my life. And if government wants to save lives, how about they do something about the drugs that cause 70,000 deaths each year?

FACT: government doesn't give a sh^t about us. These people want to rule and wield their power, and they do that by making arbitrary laws and convincing the weak minded that it's for their own good.

For someone that claims IANAL, you sure throw out a bunch of legal opinions.
