I'm not trying to be the boss of anybody. I'm taking precautions. I might have a medical condition that lowers my immune system, you don't know. You don't know everything.

I know that your medical condition is not my problem.

It's up to you to take care of your health issues, not force the rest of us to stop our lives because of you. You're not special, Mitzi. Sorry to break the bad news to you.

Loss of individual liberties exacerbated by the government officials visibly gloating at the control they suddenly got, fear for the economic state of our country, and sudden realization that people closest to you (coworkers, neighbors, etc) are subservient fascism enabling douches.

That's it in a nutshell. :yay:

Funny how things change. Not too long ago there was talk to ban the face masks used by the antifa socialists. Now we all are supposed to wear them. Must be fun to work in a bank.
My dad used to say my right to swing my fist around ended at the point of contact with your nose. Now its breathing on people that is being restricted.

For someone that claims IANAL, you sure throw out a bunch of legal opinions.

Well yea, that's typically what opinions are.

I just think the wording is clear but admit there is probably some obscure language in some law somewhere that some genius politician came up with that I may be missing.

Right, but it's not the government's business to save my life. And if government wants to save lives, how about they do something about the drugs that cause 70,000 deaths each year?

FACT: government doesn't give a sh^t about us. These people want to rule and wield their power, and they do that by making arbitrary laws and convincing the weak minded that it's for their own good.

I believe, but cannot prove, the employees at these establishments may be asking for the public to wear the masks when shopping. They are considered essential, if they get sick, who is stocking shelves, cleaning and cashiering? Its the same for the bus drivers in public transportation. The same for police officers, EMT's,fire fighters, health care workers, etc. Its a bigger picture than just an individual. Again, if you choose not to wear a mask, that's your decision. However, if you want to shop, you must have a mask. Don't want to wear one, then don't go to the stores.

By the way, if the recommendations change - or even the projected maximum casualties are adjusted down - I don't think that's a sign that anyone was wrong before. Decisions were made on the available data. The decisions that were made, at the time, were the best decisions possible at THAT time, not now. More data is now available; new decisions were made. Hindsight is 20/20, but not foresight. We can chill out and stop pointing fingers.
How dare you bring logic and reason onto this board!

But people do need to understand that N95 masks are the only real protection from the virus being inhaled.
Maybe, maybe not. The N95 mask blocks 95% of particles .3 microns and larger (hence its designation). The Covid-19 virus is an extremely tiny biological organism. It has an average size of 0.12 microns. So while the N95 might block some droplets it is in no way an absolute protection device.

Go for it! There's nothing wrong with taking precautions.

But people do need to understand that N95 masks are the only real protection from the virus being inhaled.

Better to just play ball, or shop online, or arrange for delivery.
A) Please do, freedom of choice and everything that goes along with that.

B) Masks are designed to prevent you from contaminating your environment, respirators are designed to protect the user from the environment.

C) I’m reasonably sure other countries have said the same, however, I dont live in a different country. No one delivers to my area except Amazon and their delivery schedules have not been keeping up. Wouldnt it be better if the people willingly complying all wrote their representatives and called BS on the plans?

Notice I said "might" have and I didn't say I "did" have. I am not special. Go organize your revolution.

Interesting, check out "What precautions were taking during the Spanish Flu Outbreak in 1918" very similar to what is happening with the COVID-19 Pandemic.

I don't disagree and I'm following the guidelines. I didn't understand weeks ago, why they weren't recommending wearing a face covering or mask. That's all I meant. They can protect you from the common cold if you choose to wear one.
The mask does you no good and is only intended for those that are ill to help stop them from polluting our air space you know just incase they cough or sneeze

Now Charles County is doing Masks too. It is funny how the municipalities follow one another. It's almost like they don't want to be seen doing less to "protect" their population than their neighbors, so it becomes "me to".

I find funny that in NY, where things are serious, they say the worst is over, yet here we are 5 weeks in with 100 cases in a county of 120K being forced to wear masks.

The masks aren't to protect you, there to keep you from passing it along.
The incubation period is rather long (learn something new every day) so people can be a carrier but not ill.

But if you don't want to comply, feel free to challenge it. I doubt the police will arrest you, however stores may refuse to let you in to shop if you do not comply with the health rules they have to follow - and the health department does have direct control over stores and restaurants.

“Masks are not advised for children under two years of age, or for people who have difficulty breathing. Masks made for use in health care settings, such as N95 masks, should be reserved for health care workers. Although there is no civil or criminal penalty for shoppers, businesses have the right to turn away customers“

A bandana or a piece of fabric does not equal a mask. One could argue that masks can't be purchased at this time because they are suppose to be going to the hospitals/emergency workers.

Correct. and the key part of that is the ill don't know if they're ill or not. data is still being worked on, but CDC is claiming a significant portion of those w/ 'rona lack symptoms and those who will eventually develop symptoms are capable of transmitting even before they develop symptoms.

I wonder why the whole Presidential task force, along with the reporters covering the daily briefings, don't wear masks?
