but the news story (to me and my co-workers anyway!) made southern Maryland sound uneducated...and the chick under the bar clinging to the other chicks leg???? And the "Lusbian" comment that was left unexplained......Good grief, talk about dignity.....

THEY didn't make anyone look any different than how they presented themselves. If anyone looked uneducated, it's because that's the way you perceived them. If they looked undignified, it's because you perceived them that way. Maybe the problem is you.

No one ever knows where Paducah is.. And growing up .. It was a big city to me..

MEMORIES.....

Bob Noble Park( where my grandaddy worked for years and we used to dig musket balls out of the trees after playing at the amusement park)

DAIRYQUEEN!!

Driving to Fulton to hang out with my crazier family.

The river front concerts ( BEACHBOYS!!)

Fishin' and cliff diving on Kentucky Lake.

Being a southern baptist ( oh wait, that was a nightmare!!)

Oh, criminy, here we go again.
If it is a problem with the way that I perceive the story to have been presented, it is a problem that I share. I did not see the story on tv - it was mailed to me this morning. And the person who mailed it to me was VERY upset (she is at this moment writing News 9) about the way SHE perceived the segment to have been presented....And my co-workers all agree....And I agreed as well. So I thought I would check with you guys to see if you thought the same way. And now I am the bad guy.....again...... :flowers:

How can people having fun, dancing and drinking be perceived as bad? All the news team did was film the action

I think it was the Brokeback movie guy, the chick on the floor that people are most upset about...

There is nothing to be ashamed of in that clip, I see REAL people living and enjoying their lives and who demonstrate more REAL integrity, honesty and enthusiasm than you will ever see coming from the whitewashed facade of the high society in Hollywood, California and the Washington, DC TV producers who came to Southern Maryland to do a story of what they think is the opposite end of the spectrum of the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. I would rather be associated with the folks at Toots in Hollywood, Maryland anyday of the week!

Then you and your coworkers should be mad at them, not Channel 9.

And I'm just telling you that not everyone perceived it the way you, and you're friends did. So, the problem lies in one's perception, not in the media's presentation.

Some of my co-workers suggested that the editing could have been more tactful....
