Actually try as a friend of mine did. He put the money he would usually send for child support into an interest bearing savings account just in case he lost in court. Since your used to putting that money out then you can do this and if for some reason it bites you in the butt you can just cut the check for it. But I seriously doubt your gonna have to pay.

WOW. Great advice. I would not have thought of that. Thank's

i would call the child support agency in NY that the case is through. they should kno everything.

A friend of mine did. We learned alot. I've never been diverted to the child support agency because I've always paid my support. They said If the child no longer lives at home.(except a realitive) is 18 with a child of her own her mom is no longer eligable for support. If I was in their system and I'm not, I'd submit a petition for emancipation to stop my wage garnishment etc. My Ex could contact them now but no matter how you twist it, it would come out she's 18, not living with mom and has a kid of her own. Also even if my Ex got her way the child support agency has a stipulation that if your receiving gov assistance (My Ex lives in Gov assisted housing) the agency keeps the support $ and pays the maximum of $50 dollars a month. Anyway you look at it I'm OK. Now I can focus on helping my daughter and grandson......Thanks everybody

That would most likely be the cutoff age IF SHE STILL LIVED AT HOME. But his daughter is emancipated at a younger age because she has moved out and is on her own.
:yeahthat: AND, she has a child of her own.

Great news usagent!

In another case, a daughter moved out of her parental HOME against the wishes of her parents, to live with a boyfriend. They later had a child. The Court declared the child emancipated, thus forfeiting her right to support even though she was on public assistance. The rationale? The girl had had the child after leaving her mother's HOME, against her mother's wishes, and to escape her mother's control. She also refused her father's offer to move in with him and his new wife. She clearly wanted to be free of her parents and do things her own way

It's always great to read someone who's done, and is doing, and is saying they will do the right thing. Congratulations on a great outcome, and a responsible attitude, granddad.

:jameo: Not the child nor the custodial got the child support anyway.

The State of New York has been taking the child support cash and keeping the loot.

The child support never helped the child at all and still does not.

For 18 years .............................. :killingme

Yes, I read the post.

"I've never been diverted to the child support agency because I've always paid my support....If I was in their system and I'm not, I'd submit a petition for emancipation to stop my wage garnishment etc."

He's been responsible, doing the right thing. Not going through the agency, because he's paid.

So, again, back up your continued lies.

You're an idiot
He paid the custodial mother directly, The state didn't get involved because he SUPPORTED HIS CHILD.
Unlike you, he thought food, shelter and clothing for his child was more important than a six pack for yourself.

Would that part be the "You're an idiot" part? Just asking.

The link you provided was to you, not him.

The quote of his in your link was only part of the quote. See the IF part, and realize he was saying IF he had to pay now, which he doesn't (rightly so), it would have to be through court order, and that would mean putting him on the Child Support Enforcement Agency's list, and following that set of rules (not what he'd been doing. What he'd been doing was different). Read the WHOLE post, not what fits into your realm of reality. Read what fits into actual reality.

So, again, back up your lie.

:jameo: I do not see why most here just want to hide from the reality.

The man is being cheated by the c/s system.

Wrong-doers might hide in their holes but just wait to see what happens after I flush them out. :howdy:
