In that case the gov does not keep the money.

But the gov is no Robin Hood that steals from the rich and gives to the poor - they are just being the hood or hoodlum.

The gov steals that money and gives it to the custodials.

It is still stealing and the custodials recieve stolen money.

But this thread has the man / father reporting that the State of New York keeps the child support loot except for the $50 pay off to the custodials for selling out their children's separated parent - a disloyalty check.

And the State of Maryland does not pay $50 to our poorest of poor families as Maryland keeps all of the c/s loot and gives not one penny of that child support to the custodial or to the support of the poorest child(ren).

If as T_p is so ignorantly claiming were true that the woman lives in public housing and the dad is paying the child support directly to the mom and so they are not paying the gov and she does not get only the $50 then that would mean that those two parents are both committing a serious crime of felony fraud and both could be put into jail if reported right now.

Since she is in public housing and the State of New York takes the c/s loot and gives only $50 and he sends her the c/s directly then that would be a crime big time.

Both federal law and State law under felony fraud to receive benefits without reporting the child support payments.

And thus the ignorant claim that T_p has pompously claimed is misguided.

And if they cheated the State of NY for 18 years then the mom will have to pay the stolen money back to the State in restitution and the dad will go to jail for an accomplise to the fraud if not more serious charges.

Case closed.
