You wouldn't know if I was joking...no clue.

But my point is that if you don't have proof that your card was used in an unauthorized use then the unauthorized use didn't happen and that is the same burden of proof that is put on the theist. Prove it or it didn't happen.

After looking in to it further, it looks like some guy named "chuck" used it.

But I get where yr coming from. I have a space ship that I found and restored. I keep it in low earth orbit, instead of down here, because I don't want anyone to try and steal it. It's a very nice ship. It aggravates me to no end how many people refuse to believe that I own it.

But that is faith. Until you have proof, it didn't happen.

There is a lot of archaeological evidence and I might actually buy the "Archaeological Study Bible".

Have you read, "The Presumption of Atheism" by Antony Flew?

http://www.positiveatheism.org/writ/flew01.htm

Antony Flew converted from atheism to deism and his book is a treat to read.

There is also a difference between the historical Jesus and the Easter Bunny because:

".....the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.”

http://www.equip.org/article/the-presumptuousness-of-atheism/
http://enrichmentjournal.ag.org/201303/201303_026_Athiests.cfm

And then if you really wanted to press me on atheism, I would go with the articles at answers.org and I would probably start out with the Humanist Manifesto of 2000.

None of these arguments chuckt are objective evidence of the supernatural belief system, that you more than likely were indoctrinated in from a young age, represents 'truth'.

This willful stupidity that religious fairytale writings of any religious faith that has ever existed, could possibly be reconciled with reason and reality is testament only to man's fear of suffering, eventual death, and selfish hope to live forever.

It's this cowardice, combined with an egotism that man is special in the universe, that drives virtually every religion ever created by man.

Prove it.

Gilligan,

No one can prove a negative: "God doesn't exist" so what you have is presumption and you have to prove it but you can't so instead of atheists worrying about themselves, they put the oneness (burden of proof) on the theist when really the oneness belongs on something you can't prove": "God does not exist".

Agnosticism would be more the default belief and not atheism because an Agnostic would say he doesn't know and an atheist would say he knows God doesn't exist. Well if you know, prove it. You can't prove a negative. When you put the burden of proof on theism, what you really do is live an unexamined life where you haven't challenged your own beliefs. On top of that, you and everyone else have a very large conceptual problem when you deny the existence of God.
Chuck

Hmmm, you deny the existence of Allah, Vishnu, Zeus, Ra, and all other gods of all other religions but your own, do you not? Do your powers of 'conception' allow for the possibility that jesus was a fake? That the Qu'ran is the ultimate truth of the creator of the universe? That you had the unfortunate circumstance to be born into the wrong geographical area on earth, with the wrong religion? Can you conceptualize that chuckt?

Prove it.

chuckt, 'proving' something for which no objective evidence exists is the domain of the inane, i.e. religious apologists like yourself. You'd be equally as prudent with your time proving the Druids have discerned the one true 'reality' of the universe.

So, where I was going with this is the literal translations and following of the bible. Are the folks that cut and paste biblical references ready to live entirely by that book and follow it to the letter?

And I think this conversation happened before concerning the books of the bible. Don't we all know there were more than 66? That what we see today is what the church "allowed" us to see?

No. I have a co-worker at work who wanted me to help him start a church for the sole purpose of taking people's money. I am not into that but other people are. I believe God allows it to prove who loves Him and who doesn't. The sin in the garden was that man wanted to become God so that is partly the reason for counterfeit religions of the world and the other answer is that the angels know their fate so their revenge is to take as many of you as possible with them.

No. There are actually apologetic books written about this and I have some of them.

One book is called "The Canon of Scripture by F.F Bruce" and the other books are written by Dr. Norman Geisler.

The Jews do not accept the apocryphal and the early church did not accept the books but it wasn't really until the challenge of the reformation that they were included which means that the Catholic church had to find reasons to justify what they were doing and they had rejected the books for the fifteen hundred years before that.

You spew so much error and outright falsehood I can't keep up. I actually think you do it for attention.

There was already a newspaper article that says, "The Catholic Church No Longer Swears by the Truth of the Bible" so the inclusion of the books was just evidence that they never cared five hundred years ago just like some don't care today and how many Catholics would dispute the apocrypha back then because the Catholic church kept their people pretty much all those years from reading the Bible so they didn't know much better because they never had a bible before. If you or Catholics don't swear by the truth of the Bible today then you don't care enough.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

OK, let's go...

Chuckt, do you eat hamburgers, steak or chicken? I hope not!Leviticus 3:17 reads:

“It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.”

You better have a beard, too! Leviticus 19:27 reads:

“neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.”

You better not have a polyester leisure suit hiding in your closet! Leviticus 19:19 reads:

“You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.”

You from Maryland? You better not be enjoying any of dem crabs, now! Leviticus 10–11 reads:

“And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcasses in abomination.”

I can do this all day. Actually, I can't, I have some sinning to go do. Cheeseburgers and crabs this weekend!
