She graduates in 6 months...when do you recommend that she get in touch with 'life after college?'

...

Get in touch with life? What the hell is that? You mean...I'm not... :yikes:

you guys are really being hard on janey here. Fact is most people who go to college have the same fears and reservations right before they graduate. And in a few years she will also think that they were groundless, but it doesn't mean that they aren't real to her right now.
i know i was prety worried that somebody was actually going to expect me to know what i was talking about when i got a job. Thankfully, it never happened. College just shows potential employers that you can learn something, not that you know anything...

Wow, total rudeness on a message board, what year is this ....'96?

Just put me on your ignore list, that way you will only have to read messages from those same tired voices who make 30+ posts a day...you can make rude little comments, think they are ironic or funny and then feel included when your "karma" is increased...what a way to spend time.

Same thing in my family, except my cousins didn't even graduate from high school and the main goal in their life was cranking out as many kids as they could. Last I knew my 33 year old cousin in up to 6, my 25 year old cousin is up to 5, and my 21 year cousin is at 8(he is a guy). OH and then my 28 year old cousin is doing time in jail for robbing a bank!
Same in my family, the last to go was my great grandfather whom I never got the chance to meet. Supposedly, he was an engineer, knew 7 different languages and traveled a lot.

I don't think anyone is giving her a hard time because she is having reservations and fears about "growing up". Heck we all had those. I think everyone is just fed up with the "woah is me" gag. I mean everyone goes through something rough all the time around here...I don't see them posting the little "its so hard to be me; you just don't know" threads every chance they get......

I myself have just finished going through my own little mini life drama and have yet to post out in the open how tough a time I had with that....why?? because everyone goes through something and I'll be darned if I"m going to use some online chat buddies as shoulders to cry on for something that they don't care about to begin with.

I for one am concerned about what her posts are going to be like when she discovers the real world...can you imagine???

"oh my god-I just like got my first electric bill and I don't know what I'm going to do. I shut off all my lights-now I can't see when I dry my hair" :duh:

I can see that side of it too.

I mean you don't see a lot of "my house is about to be forclosed on" or "my tranny just blew up and i dont have the $$$ to fix it posts" and i am sure there are plenty of stories like that out there....

I shouldn't of told you all about the deck poop.
Has been awhile since it has happened, so hopefully that drama for me will be over.
