Where did you have yours done? :smoochy:
Like Suz, ylexot & Ocean733, mine were done at Lasik Plus but in Columbia. They had 3 locations back then, Columbia, Balt. & Annap.

I paid $3,000.00 and have lifetime warranty... (lifetime enhancements if needed)

To those who are skeered or worried, don't be. It really is painless and sooooo worth it. My night vision could be better but it's not an issue.

If you don't mind fogged glasses, broken frames, losing contacts, paying for eye exams, buying new glasses, buying new contacts, fumbling with solution, cleaning, prescription sunglasses, etc.... then by all means, keep your glasses/contacts.

If you want to get out of bed, get dressed and take off, no $$ to buy glasses/contacts, solutions etc... then get Lasik.

I've always wanted to get those snake or white out contacts just to freak people out at Satan's Food Warehouse one day.:yay:

I'm not scared at all! Just waiting to have the money. I never take out my contacts and I know that can't be good for me. But it pisses me off when I wake up and can't see. Glasses suck. :holdme:

When I told them I left my contacts in they shook their head. I was giving them the 3rd degree about having the procedure and Dr. Goel says, "You wear your contacts for 3 weeks at a time. :shakinghishead: Do you know how bad that is for your eyes? Then you sit here and quiz me about a perfectly safe procedure."

You really shouldn't wear them too long. They restrict oxygen to your eyeballs.

:yay: I will probably have it done in the next year. I've worn glasses most of my life and am tired of them. I wore contacts for quite a few years, too, but got tired of the hassle. My vision is not bad by any means, but it would be nice to NOT see things with frames around everything or having to stick contacts in my eyes.

I think I'm supposed to throw them away after two weeks, but I wait until I have trouble seeing through them. :yikes: I've been yelled at before. But I think I'll throw these away tonight and break out some freshies tomorrow.

I left mine in for weeks at a time until I got an ulcer on my cornea. That hurt bad enough that I never put them in again.

Got Lasik at Johns Hopkins 5 years ago for $3800. I was 20/800 and now I'm still 20/15. The worst part was letting them mess with my eyes, and the part where they take suction on your eye to keep it still. The little discomfort didn't even compare to the ulcer I had 6 years earlier. I got home and took a nap, and when I woke up i could see. Greates thing ever.

I've been wearing glasses since i was 15, and before that I just thought everyone could see like I did.. always wondered how stupid the government must be to make speed limit signs that nobody could read. AMAZING day the first day I wore glasses.
I just read this and actually laughed out loud. :lmao:

I've worn contacts since I was about 15, and love them. I never wear my glasses, b/c it's a PITA to have to turn your head to see what's next to you, rather than using peripheral vision. I recently switched to a new brand (Optix), and it's amazing how much better they feel than the ones I used to wear. They breath much better. :yay: I'd say if you don't have a problem sticking your finger in your eye, and don't like wearing glasses, go for it. At least get the free trial pair, and if you don't like them, don't buy any.
