Which is better? More convenient? Less expensive? I'm trying to do some research on contact lenses (the kind for astigmatism), to see whether or not I might be able to get them. TIA.

My dog has astigmatism, we make him stay in the yard when company comes over.

 Oh I let mine in when company comes that I don't like, I like to see the little bugs jump off of the dogs onto the legs and clothes of company. :lmao:

I wear both glasses and contacts. I go to Target. Their pretty reasonable and the doctor is nice. I love my contacts...I just can't wear them at work. I always get stuff in my eyes. I'm a manager at domino's so the cornmeal somehow always winds up in my eyes. I really want the lasik surgery done but haven't really looked into too much.

And to think if we lived a couple thousand years ago we would all be dead/handicapped early in life...by natural selection of course...

Since bad vision is heriditary, I think eventually (if armageddon hasnt happened yet) all people on earth will require glasses, contacts, surgery, or whatever they are doing at that point in time to correct it...altering DNA/gene structure, etc...

hey girlie! I'm with ya on the astigmatism part. Toric lenses (contacts for astigmatism) are costly. No doubt about it. It will depend on your prescription which types are good for you and your active or non active lifestyle. I like mine for aerobics and swimming and those special events I don't wish to wear my glasses. Reading for me can only be done in glasses. If you're still studying you should keep a pair of glasses around. I like the versatility of my contacts and wearing walmart sunglasses. regular glasses that come with a sunglass clip are the way to go for me. I keep the clip in the car if it's not being worn.

I can't stand the thought of doing Lasik, it makes me cringe but others swear by it.

good luck!

Read above.. TORICS are no more expensive then 30 day lenses now.. I've got my first set about 6 months ago.. AWESOME, and CHEAP.. no more $400 lenses..
