Same cast of characters shooting up the place. The liberal revolving door of crime policies are failing.

"Nobody knows nuffin'".

The lack of transparency under the current administration has left many residents feeling uneasy, directly questioning the leadership’s ability to handle serious crimes effectively.

Probably was just some of those "undocumented workers", aka illegal aliens, that Sheriff Hall doesn't mind letting run loose. Since he supports them by denying any and all ICE detainer requests.

Hopefully the next person to run for sheriff, against Hall, will use all of this as ammo to un-seat Hall.
I like Steve...and my friends inside the department (the few left..most have retired) told me he was the one to vote for. I'm left wondering what's really going on....not having any inside info sources any more.

Have met him a couple of times. Seems nice, though somewhat aloof. Though I heard, after he came into office, one of the things he changed was to have all deputies remove their red-dot sights off their service weapons. No idea why he would do that.

Okay, I tried to read through all of it. More or less got the impression that the impartial reporter might not be a fan of the SMC Sheriff.
Rossignol has had a hard on for every Sheriff and State's Attorney in Southern Maryland for decades. Some for real reasons and some just "because".

Why not just say the dude allegedly get into a brawl with a security guard.

Regarding the assault, he reportedly told deputies, “I reacted on impulse, bro.”
Good thing most adults can keep their impulses under control. Imagine a place with 100s of people like this guy.

St Mary's has none of the typical suburban enmities such lots of options for restaurants, shopping, and entertainment, highways, promitiy to airports, interstates, etc but it sure is getting the inner city crime. Take a drive down Great Mills Rd, that area in front of Canopy Liquors and the laundry mat is full of junkies and homeless and losers hanging out. They are building a new Aldi, Starbucks, and Royal Farms which will become a hangout for the same trash harrassing people for money. Just yesterday while trying to see what going out of business deals were available at Big Lots, I was approach but two people asking for money and there were two other vagrants hanging out by the entrance. It amazes me that homes off Willows are selling for over $500K when this is considered their area.
Be thankful you weren't robbed.

I've lived in SOMD for 25 years now and always thought it was a high crime area. So I haven't seen a good Sheriff in St Marys yet as far as I am concerned

Well that's because you've spent too much time in Lexington Park. Until fairly recently most crime here (and the increase is partially driven by the increase in population) was what you'd find in many if not most rural areas-bar fights, domestics, public drunkenness, drunk driving, poaching and drugs. And a lot of all of the above ran in families.

I'm my experience rural areas typically take care of those that cause problems, Maryland seems to like them enough to want to keep them around. I barely consider southern Maryland rural except for some small pockets, South of St Marys City and 7th district. Always seemed to me all the Section 8 is most of the problem. I had never even heard of section 8 in this regard till I moved to MD. Before that section 8 was what Corporal Klinger was trying to to get to get out of the army.

So now I have to ask you to define recently.
