So now I have to ask you to define recently.
The last several years. Charles crumbled first, St. Mary's is crumbling and Calvert's foundation is shifting.

In the case of Calvert look at the vast majority of issues, it's still mostly excerpts from World's Stupidest Criminals, like the guy named Lambert here. Keep scrolling down to the end after after you see him.

A friend of mine at work told me he moved out of Waldorf in the early 80s because things were "out of control" there then.

I mean I've lived in and around Lex Park for 30 years now. Early 90s Columbia Commons, Mid-late 90s right in Patuxent Home, Almost all the Oughts on Chancellors right south of Rutherford. I've watched the crime grow and change over that time. And NB is right that in most of the county, the crime was and still is "run of the mill" burglaries and domestics and vandalism. Outliers like the Navy crossbow killer in Wildewood, but even in LP City, meaning LExPark and Great Mills, basically the triangle of 235, GMR and Chancellors and GMR down to Route 5, shootings were rare, really rare, as were assaults not bad guy on bad guy. I think the vast majority of that stuff is still BG vs BG, but there has been some bleedover.

I think while the Sherriff has a part of it, dissolving the youth gun task force and the K9 don't help, and it seems he's pretty reactive and doesnt communicate worth a crap, a larger part is the criminal justice system setting people free repeatedly even when the guidelines allow them to keep the dirtbags off the street.

I looked it up. Since I got here in 93, the county's population has increased by 47%. I did hear that when they started gentrifying SouthEast, it was vouchers for everyone, go south...
