No seriously, I'd rather receive no compliments than a false compliment or an insulting one. I think it's insulting that the word cute is applied more to small children and pets than to adults, and then it's the word I get as my "label". I feel as if it's a reference to my stature, not to my attractiveness or lack there of.

I believe cute is a false and inaccurate way of giving me a compliment by an individual who doesn't truly mean it. Perhaps, I do think too much, but I do know the English language and I do habitually think. :shrug:

Pixie is right, you're over thinking their response and giving it more value than it's warranted.

If you suspect everything a person says to you as fictitious, than how can you ever truly take a sincere compliment??
