Darn buzzards

Well, I think once the baby is hatched they'll move out, even if they depend on parents for food. Some buzzards took up in my freinds barn, for the same purpose, and used her un-used stall for a safe haven to hatch their youngster, and once the baby was born, they left within a short duration of time. (i want to say with in the week).

INSTALL A WEBCAM!! ~~maybe you can make some money off the videos.

Hmmm good idea! I don't have a webcam though :bawl: but that would be awesome! Oh if I put up with the suckers taking over the hay/tack area I want to get pics of the baby so they better not move it! It looks like I am going to have to sanitize the whole area before new hay comes in, so they better make it worth my while!

Here are some pics from this afternoon. Don't let her pretty face fool you, she was hissing at me each time after my flash went off! Now I am not sure if this is the daddy or mom, they take turns setting on the egg.

While you are checking them for buttholes, you might check and see if they have an innie or an outtie! :jet:

Ok I will check that for you! Pretty sure they have buttholes, unless they vomit the egg also! Poor paso will believe anything!

Are they staring at you? Maybe they know something you don't know

Yep if they start to roost close to the house, then all love and compassion goes out the window!

So, Prep..is the egg on the ground? I'd be worried that something would get it. I'm glad it's not at my place, I'd be attached already. I don't think Ott would let me have a baby buzzard.

The egg is on some left over hay laying on pallets. They have made a crude nest (indentation) on the hay. The only way something can get to the egg is to come in the cat door. Of course if they could fly they could come in the ventilation gap in between the horse stall and hay room. Yesterday as I was taking pics my male cat was in there just eating away, neither seemed bothered by each other.
I think Otter is being very mean by denying you the "excitement" of buzzard baby raising!
