Nah, it's just funny to watch some of ya'll react the way you do
This is funny to you, is it? You are some young dumb kid who thinks because he's over 21, he knows everything there is to know about life and how everyone should live it. If and when you ever decide to have children (you're too stupid to be allowed to procreate), I hope for your sake they are all healthy and normal because I don't think you could handle a handicapped child.

boy...I think ya'll should form a club, "You Need to Live it to Have Knowledge of it" :killingme :yeahthat:
Answer: I live it, and will the rest of my life. My son is autistic. If you don't know about autism read up on it, if you're capable of that level of reading and comprehension.

Vince,

In Johnny's defense he never said he thought handicapped children were funny, he was referencing to when JULZ or someone said he thought he knew everything. And some of his "know it all responses", he thought, (or at least I think he thought) it was funny when they started bashing him saying he was a know it all. If you read back he does make some valid points....JMO

Oh and :huggy: good luck to you and your family.

And what did I say negatively about having, caring for, or being an autistic (or other person with a disability)?
I said I was all for having and caring for the kid, besides their special needs, as any other child.

:yeahthat:

Also, in case it hasn't been said directly, I GREATLY respect the folks who sacrifice in their lives to care for a handicapped child. :yay:

Your son is a good kid. I had the honor of meeting him when I worked at TCLE.

What makes you think anyone has to sacrifice anything to take care of a handicapped child?

If you're implying that they don't require more care and attention than the average kid, then that is foolish.
So, things that are commonly sacrificed: time, energy, finances. Among other things.

How would you know what they do or don't require?

Raised a (handicapped) child?
Of course not.

I sure hope you're not going to go back to THAT debate, though, that you need personal experience to understand something like this

That's all I needed to know.

And BTW I have that personal experience. :howdy:

Few years ago, my best friend's step sister had abortion at 20 weeks because she found out the baby had club foot. That was the only reason why she had abortion. My best friend and I were shocked because club foot is fixable with surgeries, and that's a very wrong reason to get abortion! :boo:

That was obvious
So, give any more time/attention to the handicapped one? Pay for any special meds, doctor trips, etc?
Just curious.

All my kids get the same attention. And most kids go to the dr's anyway, so that isn't a big deal and yes one requires meds but once again not a big deal or as you say "sacrifice".

knowing what I do about your situation, which isn't too much, you sacrifice...whether you want to call it that or not
