again, just curious, but we are NOT talking about something like ADD or ADHD as the disability, right? because that doesn't even being to apply to what I'm talking about, which is mostly things that reduce mental capacity...like autism, for example :eyebrow:

Johnny, please take my advice: leave this alone. Picking on MissHelper isn't going to get you anywhere about raising children or dealing with handicapped kids.

Like I have told you before that you will understand when you grow up and have children of your own. In a meantime, just leave it alone.

And what did I say negatively about having, caring for, or being an autistic (or other person with a disability)?
I said I was all for having and caring for the kid, besides their special needs, as any other child.

:yeahthat:

Also, in case it hasn't been said directly, I GREATLY respect the folks who sacrifice in their lives to care for a handicapped child. :yay:
No, you like to see peoples reaction when you spew your garbage out. Like I said before you are just some little no nothing kid that has yet to experience anything in life. I guess I cannot fault you for being young and knowing nothing of life, but I also have a daughter who even when she was 18 had 10 times the maturity, respect and intelligence that you think you possess. I do, however, appologize to the remaining intelligent people on this forum for getting a little upset with the child posting here as johnnyboy.

Few years ago, my best friend's step sister had abortion at 20 weeks because she found out the baby had club foot. That was the only reason why she had abortion. My best friend and I were shocked because club foot is fixable with surgeries, and that's a very wrong reason to get abortion! :boo:

Wow. My brother was born with a club foot. He was completely normal after wearing braces and a few casts when he was an infant. No big deal at all.

There you go again. Talking about things of which know nothing. Autism is not a reduced mental capacity and like I said before you should read more on the subject if you have the reading and comprehension skills. I know autistics that have math and retentative skills you can only dream of. Young man, you should not be on this forum. You need to go home and talk to your Mom and Dad about life. Maybe even get an education.

Vince, I am glad that you busted him out on that one. I was getting ready to but I saw your post. He really does not know anything that he is talking about. He is just talking out of his azz like usual.
Good luck to you and your son, it seems like he has a great father.

And because it might need said:
Just because you may not sacrifice *now*, doesn't mean that you never will. :yay: It WILL happen eventually.

Hey Mr Wizard here's a news flash for you - all parents sacrifice for their children, it does not matter if they are handicapped or not!

My son's friend has Aspergers. I will say I didn't know much about Autistic children until they became friends a 4 years ago. He AMAZES me... he is the smartest kid I think I have ever known. My son and him have played on the same ball team for years and he holds such a special place in my heart. He is a great kid and I hate the way that others look at him.

Im sorry but I dont agree with abortion. My son was born with a heart condition and many other problems and I could not imagine my life without him. I know Ive had this debate before with someone and was told if they were in my situation they would have aborted. It really broke my heart reading that just cause I look into my sons eyes now and see all the love and support we have for him. He will be 11 in July and never could imagine life without him. He has been through numerous surgeries and will have some here and there throughout his life. One thing he will tell you is God gave him life and he fights every day to live. We didnt know about his heart condition and should have known by our doctor. She should have detected something right away, but she overlooked many things. Parents who live everyday with special needs children are fighters and i look up to them for giving there child a chance to live as much as a normal life as possible. I know my son will have to fight his way through life with the many problems he has but hes a strong boy who wants life!
