DeSantis Team Responds To AOC In FL: School Kids In NY Eating Outside In ‘Freezing Temperatures’


“Glad to see AOC enjoying the Florida freedom and sunshine, but it’s sad that school children in NYC are forced to eat lunch outside in freezing temperatures this winter due to the draconian and useless COVID policies pushed by AOC and her fellow progressives,” DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw told The Daily Wire.

Notably, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki confirmed this month that at least some school children were being forced to eat outside due to COVID-related protocols. Psaki said her child doesn’t mind at all eating snack and lunch outside and added that vaccines are not yet approved for very young children. Alternatively, some parents have voiced outrage at the protocols.

Fried’s tweet came after Florida Democrats and others recently suggested that DeSantis had gone missing because, as they claimed, he had not been seen in public in roughly two weeks.

DeSantis’ press secretary, Christina Pushaw, debunked those claims when she tweeted out screenshots of his public schedule that show his activities as governor.

DeSantis said that “some people are going to testing centers two, three, four times a week,” and that is too much.

Anecdotally, I’ve been told by a nurse who said she worked at a hospital’s drive-through testing location that there were 200-300 people that they would see over and over, every single week, the “frequent flyers” who obsessively test and re-test, even though they have no symptoms (and are probably injected and boosted).

These “frequent flyers” are not well. They don’t need more testing. They need a mental-health intervention. And they are using up a lot of tests. DeSantis said that unfortunately the federal government has created inappropriate levels of demand for testing by healthy people.

Finally, the CEO of a South Florida hospital chain spoke and said that HALF (50%) of their reported hospitalization figures are “with Covid” and not “for Covid.” If this proportion is common to other hospitals — and there’s no reason to think it isn’t — then actual Omicron hospitalizations in Florida are actually much lower than they appear.
