Dinner!!

God bless the USA
 I didn't think I would like it either but it really is hard to taste the difference in things like spaghetti sauce, tacos, etc...

I don’t like it because I grew up on it. I am not a hunter, but my daddy and bros were...101 recipes for venison and wild turkey. I am over it. :blek: But, I know how proud you are of your son on his first kill, and you should be. Happy venisoning!

Love my InstantPot!
I'm kinda on the fence over getting one of those. Sounds convenient but all of the recipes I've seen friends make in their instapots everything is very hmmm liquidy. It doesn't look appetizing. They say the food taste great but its just not doing it for my eyes.
My roomie can smell venison cooking when she parks her car in the driveway.
She will casually ask did I cook her dinner also.... I always cook a twofer so everyone is happy..
It does have a different smell when its cooking that's for sure

If you have a full kitchen with a slow cooker and pots and pans and a pressure cooker, you probably don't need an InstantPot.

That sounds good.

Wait, was it beef or Bambi?

I haven't had any food yet. We got back today from Key West and have nothing in the trailer, so I'm headed to the store here shortly. I'm thinking about making goulash.

Ground sirloin and pork. Make it just like regular meatloaf, but, make a good sized indention in the top of the loaf, running the entire length. Stuff that with mexican cheese and seeded jalapeno's, shape it again to cover the indention. I made a sauce out of Rotel, chili sauce and a little ketchup, poured it over top of the loaf and baked for an hour.

Made a dinner the other night with chicken breasts. Peel, core and slice apples (2), dice a small onion, slice a carrot. Place all of that on a cookie sheet, Microwave a big sweet potato in a bowl with some water for 10 minutes. Peel the potato and chop it in bite size chunks. Use your favorite BBQ sauce on both sides of the chicken then place them on top of the apples, carrots and onions, put the sweet potatoes on top of the chicken breasts. Throw on some cranberries and bake at 375 for about 45 -55 minutes. I also added some pepper, garlic and butter. It was freaking fantastic and hubs loved it too!

Now it really sounds good. Stuffed meatloaf...must try this.

I've done a stuffed meatloaf a few times, but slightly different. I put 1/3 of the meatloaf mix in a glass deep dish, layer in red/green/yellow peppers and onion, then top with the rest of the mix.

Tonight I'm making my world famous turkey chili.

Grilled ham and cheese sandwich, bread and butter pickles and a cuppa coffee makes a nice dinner on a cold day.

Beers at Krakken bar with Bird Dog. For all of you who wondered, he's normal. :jet:

Thanks for "dinner", Bird Dog! :buddies:

Comfort food dinner. French dip, with a twist.

Garlic butter slathered on a club roll, toasted. Add provolone, broil until brown. Add thinly sliced pork (yes, pork) from a pork roast two nights ago, warmed in the au jus, served with a deep dish of more au jus.

I now prefer roast pork to beef on my French dip. Really tasty. I order it this way when I go to Smokey Joe's. Takes a little effort to get past the confusion of getting pork on a French dip, but it's wort the effort.

That sounds excellent, even more so with the peppers blackened on the grill and then smoke it for the first 30 min...

Red Gold has a bunch of different canned Tomatoes.

Birthday dinner at CD Café with Mommy and Sistard. I had the trout almandine with truffle mashed taters and wilted spinach. We split a piece of key lime pie for dessert while they all sang Happy Birthday to me. *burp*

Went to Boomerangs for my daughters birthday dinner, she loves ribs, as do my two granddaughters. Very disappointed, they were dry, overcooked and just plain lousy. Never again.

That's too bad - I've always enjoyed Boomerang's. Wonder if they were just having an off-night? But even so, they shouldn't serve crappy ribs. If they mess them up they should do them over.

We ate the Boomerangs last week and the ribs and everything else was great!

Maybe an off night. We hadn't been there in a while, but, we've always loved their babybacks. Just disappointing when you have your mouth all set for something and the anticipation of tasting the smoky, bbq taste is almost torturous....and they turn out to be lousy.
