Tonight we wandered downtown, listening to music and bar hopping, and ended up at Route 66-something for BBQ. The sides - coleslaw, potato salad, beans, cornbread - were so good I ate those first and left the meat for breakfast in the morning.

We were in Myrtle Beach with kids, grandkids, kids friends, boyfriend of one daughter and two granddogs, all last week for vacation. Had a great time and weather was perfect. On my night to cook, I grilled whole beef tenderloin roast, served with cucumber tomato salad and jasmine rice. It was delicious!! While we were there, we ventured to Murrells Inlet and had the best pork bbq I have ever tasted. The name of the place was Proessers BBQ. They have a fabulous lunch buffet, but all we wanted was a sandwich. They were huge and filled you up. The next day, coming back from Pawleys Island, we stopped at a winery in Litchfield...lets just say, I wont make that mistake again. Next to the winery was NY style deli, we asked the girl at the winery if it was any good, she highly recommended it. We ordered a Rueben and split it between us. Delish!!! The guy that owns the deli, is from NY and had managed a deli there for years. Highly recommend a stop there if you're in that area.

Tried a new recipe for meatloaf last night. Neither I nor my youngest are big meatloaf eaters. I only make it because my husband and oldest son like it. Combine ground turkey, 2 eggs, some water, some ketchup, and a box of Stove Top stuffing. I must say, it was really good. My youngest and I actually ate it instead of picking at it until dinner is over.

Our end of season last crab feast was delish, today. Cameron’s had a good mailer coupon for live crabs that we used. Bye bye, blue crabs until next year. We will miss y’all. Live, and procreate. May the waters of Maryland be good to you.

And, gone are the days when hub, his dad, and bro had a commercial license, and went out on their boat to crab in Benedict. 😥 Life is change.

Roast beef and pastrami on grilled Hawaiian rolls with grain mustard, and cut veggies on the side. Fig newtons for dessert.
