How will a fairy tale punish someone?

Which? Murder or justice?Masey said:I find it savagely cruel, barbaric and unchristian.
You don't murder murderers, you PUNISH them.. and punishment should fit the crime.. if you savagely kill a family, or kill someone in cold blood. living out your life with heat, electric, three meals a day, AC, no responsibilities to care for yourself or for any of your family, no job, free time to go to school, learn a trade, play basketball, or just sit around all day and watch TV.. that's not punishment, most of us would call THAT a vacation.Masey said:Yes, it is. So tell me why do we allow some of our State governments to MURDER.
That is a great idea! Parole and Probation could really use some places like that to dump them off at, I mean.... a place like that for them to live.BadGirl said:Maybe you can petition a court so when one or more of these convicted killers come out on probation and have no place to go, they can come live with you and your family.

Please don’t construe my admission that I would hire an attorney for my child (if they ever needed one) with attempting to minimize or condone the crime for which they might receive a death sentence for.vraiblonde said:And let's say the attorney gets him off completely or with a very light sentence. Would you be pleased?
I wasn't. I just asked a simple question.Masey said:Please don’t construe my admission that I would hire an attorney for my child (if they ever needed one) with attempting to minimize or condone the crime for which they might receive a death sentence for.

Please, the death penalty is not a deterrent to people killing - the majority of murders are committed in moments when emotion overcomes reason or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.Somdmommy said:
Dont you think there would be alot more Muder's if there was no DP. YES...."Ahh #### on it, if I kill someone I go to jail and get out in 10-20"
I like to think that the DP keeps the Murder's down a bit.
Taking a life is wrong, it is illegal and immoral.......If someone killed my son, I would see that person fry and not think twice about it!
People like you are the reason why people in prision have it so good.
If I knew they were guilty, I would not be pleased if they got off scot-free. However, if the attorney got their sentenced reduced to life-in-prison vs. the death penalty, then yes, I would be pleased.vraiblonde said:I wasn't. I just asked a simple question.
Emotion is the reason for all Murder. Someone pissed someone off, someone broke up with someone, blah blah blah.Masey said:Please, the death penalty is not a deterrent to people killing - the majority of murders are committed in moments when emotion overcomes reason or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
It could be if it was used. Last time it was used in Maryland was November 1998. There are 12 on Maryland's death row three of which have been there for 22 years. If they haven't been cleared by now why are they still sitting there?Masey said:Please, the death penalty is not a deterrent to people killing - the majority of murders are committed in moments when emotion overcomes reason or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Now look at it from the other side, How would you feel if your were the victims parents, husband or child? Life in prision does not always mean LIFE.Masey said:If I knew they were guilty, I would not be pleased if they got off scot-free. What if you were in a state that didn't have the death penalty? Would you still hire the lawyer?Masey said:If I knew they were guilty, I would not be pleased if they got off scot-free. Ohhh good one!Honestly, I don't know... and it would also depend upon the circumstances involved. If it was somthing like this then, yes, I would consider hiring an attorney.vraiblonde said:What if you were in a state that didn't have the death penalty? Would you still hire the lawyer?
Thats not Murder, They got into a fight...Dude fell down the stairs and had a heart attack. Were talking about Murder, not Assault.Masey said:Honestly, I don't know... and it would also depend upon the circumstances involved. Why do people sit on death row for so long? I never understood that.Ken King said:It could be if it was used. Last time it was used in Maryland was November 1998. So you'd rather have said family member rot in prison for the rest of their miserable life rather than get it over with quickly?Masey said:If I knew they were guilty, I would not be pleased if they got off scot-free.
