Does Santa wrap his gifts?

Club'nBabySeals

Where are my pants?
So we're having a debate in my house as to whether Santa leaves gifts on Christmas morning wrapped, or not wrapped.

When I was a kid, Santa didn't bother wrapping gifts. He just set them in piles under the tree.

My husband pointed out that this was probably just because my parents were lazy (his argument has merit ); however I sort of like the differentiation inherent in Santa's gifts coming unwrapped, while gifts from Mommy and Daddy and other family members are wrapped.

Hubby, whose mother is Martha Stewart's long lost twin, always awoke Christmas morning to find the gifts that Santa left him wrapped in neat little packages. He is of the opinion that this is the way everyone did things.

So, in my effort to collect relatively unbiased data, I'll pose the question to all of you:

How did Santa leave his gifts when you were a child? How does Santa (or will Santa) leave gifts for your little ones?

As a child our "big" gift was always from Santa and it was UNwrapped. We do the same with our three children.

I like it that way and I also wouldn't want to worry about hiding wrapping paper or writing on it with handwriting they would recognize.

I buy special "Samta" giftwrap and wrap those gifts in a completely different wrap than any I have used under the tree. Now if the present is huge like my son's ATV (battery powered) was last year, I left it unwrapped. Kinda hard to wrap something that big. :lmao:

Ditto on the "big gift" from Santa growing up and I keep it the same here.

Everything else is wrapped. I color coordinate by child...I have four so one has all red, one green, one blue, one purples,etc...all their gifts are wrapped in that one color. Many different themes but all one color per child.

If the gift is huge like a bike or trampoline then don't even bother. Otherwise wrap the gifts. It makes it more fun for the children.:yay: There's more surprise involved.

Same here. This year I got the excuse, "your gift is too big to fit under the tree." Next thing I know the kids are wrapping my gift and present (haha) it to me.

It's a 23" LCD fancy computer monitor. It's a great gift but would have fitted next to the tree. Ulterior motive here? It is rather Santabulous.

Big gifts get set up by Santa , unwrapped, and the small but no less important go in the tree or under it.

My favorite are the stockings.

BTW: My kids have always known I am Santa...Boo me!

Okay... I have another question. How much does Santa bring? Like I said earlier we got a "big gift" from Santa... usually a bike, tv etc.. the rest of the gifts were from the parents.

Does Santa bring a bunch of gifts? Or all the gifts? Or a gift?

The stockings were ALWAYS my favorite part as a kid. My mom did a great job with them and I try to do the same with my kids.

They never believed in Santa?????

Usually the largest most special gift. The rest comes from you and family. That way they not only appreciate Santa but the family.

Oh and my son is thinking because now that he is 16 he won't get a really cool gift from Santa. Boy do we have him fooled. He is going to get a really cool gift from Mom and Dad. That to me is more special. He earned it while helping me here at home as a homeschooled child should. :lmao:

That IS a great gift. Wrapped or not. heheh

I love the stockings too and go all out on those. (not expensive really, but "neat" or different in there) I didn't wrap the gifts in there when they were little but now that most of mine are grown, I do. Just to make it more work. :yay:

Well, here anyway, Santa brought the "big gift" and some others. You knew the unwrapped one was from Santa. The others, could be from us OR Santa. You didn't know... it was all wrapped the same and mommy wouldn't admit anything. I always ask "oooh, what is that?" Period.

Keeps them confused.

(to add, before any idiot points it out...mine are now pretty much too old and all know there is no Santa. I still do the same things though. They know to go along.)

My 8 year old keeps telling me that Santa isn't real. He says that some kids at school told him that their parents confessed Santa isn't real.

He is still torn to believe or not. He asked Santa this year to bring my parents, his grandparents back to life. Both have passed away... I told him that Santa can't do that. And he says Santa can he is magic. :bawl:

I never allowed them that joy to spare them the trauma (really) I felt and still feel when I found out he (Santa) wasn't real.

They have plenty of enjoyment during the holidays and were never deceived.

There is no easy let down (IMO) once you've been lied to. Same with the tooth fairy and easter bunny.

I can't wait to go sit on Santa's lap tomorrow. I'll be pulling off his fake beard.

Oh geez. :bawl: He is too smart. I'd want the same if Santa were real. :bawl:

Maybe you could explain to him that Santa IS magic but he can't overrule God...who "took" his grandparents because he needed them.

He does more around the house as far as housework goes than the other's do because he is homeschooled and older. I am also disabled as you know and he helps me out A LOT! So, he asked for several years for an XBOX360 so I managed to get him one this year. He is going to flip! :lmao:
