Does Santa wrap his gifts?

We have always wrapped each child in different paper no tags

Santa always tucked a doll in each bed with the stocking big gifts 1 or 2 were left unwrapped.

No presents were ever put under the tree till christmas eve except the ones to each other (brother and sisters)

Christmas eve you could have 1 present each and it was a pair of jammies

They are now 25, 23 and 20 and still look to get jammies, to wear christmas morning just bought 7 pairs 3 kids, husband, girlfriends and 1 grand baby

Ive been doing Christmas Eve jammies ever since I have had kids! I do this for the whole family. My kids are 10 and 9 and its one of those things they expect. They have asked what kind they are getting this year! Santa wraps his stuff to the kids. Its just different from what my husband and I wrap. Its so fun seeing them opening little things from there stockings, when all gifts are opened from santa and family they open the "family" gift. This year listen for a scream cause they finally are getting what they asked for! Aw, Im so excited and cant wait for the holidays!!

Santa wraps some gifts – always a different paper than what I usually use – leftovers go to my mom b/c she has a varied collection of wrapping paper so it’s never a thought put to where it came from. Now that we have more than one - every kid has a different designed paper other gifts are left unwrapped and some are even set up ready to be played with. Santa also fills stocking but with practical stuff. When we were little Santa never wrapped for me and I was soo jealous b/c he took the time to wrap all of my cousin’s gifts – we actually thought about it when we were little and attributed it to she was an only child and there were a lot in my family so Santa didn’t have the time when he stopped at our house to wrap ours – he had more to unload. Santa always wrapped hubby’s presents when he was little.

In years past Santa left all of our son’s gifts under the tree for him to come out and see on Christmas morning. Last year with the addition of the 2 little ones I think will be the last year of that. I’m the oldest of 5 and we always sat out stockings out on either a couch or chair that we claimed as our space and Santa would leave our presents in our spot – this is how we’ll do things this year I think.

We also do 12 presents per kid under the tree from mom and dad – and open one a night for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. I know 12 seems like a lot I haven’t spent more than $75 a kid for under the tree gifts – most are practical – character socks, jackets, shirts - there are toys but nothing major (usually something I’ve bought while the kids are with me so I can’t put it away with the Santa stuff)

How did Santa leave his gifts when you were a child? How does Santa (or will Santa) leave gifts for your little ones?

Santa doesn't wrap.

Santa leaves his big toys unwrapped, so that when the children filter into the living room they're instantly struck with a grand view of their groovy stuff.

They're out to get us
So we're having a debate in my house as to whether Santa leaves gifts on Christmas morning wrapped, or not wrapped.

When I was a kid, Santa didn't bother wrapping gifts. He just set them in piles under the tree.

My husband pointed out that this was probably just because my parents were lazy (his argument has merit ); however I sort of like the differentiation inherent in Santa's gifts coming unwrapped, while gifts from Mommy and Daddy and other family members are wrapped.

Hubby, whose mother is Martha Stewart's long lost twin, always awoke Christmas morning to find the gifts that Santa left him wrapped in neat little packages. He is of the opinion that this is the way everyone did things.

So, in my effort to collect relatively unbiased data, I'll pose the question to all of you:

How did Santa leave his gifts when you were a child? How does Santa (or will Santa) leave gifts for your little ones?

Unless the crappy gifts are from Santa and the awesome ones are from mommy and daddy, then you should wrap those up and not let em know the difference!

I know I'm from the pre-historic age, but Santa NEVER wrapped his gifts! Of course, Mommy & Daddy did. That's how we knew which gift from Santa was ours... It was always by our "pile" from Mom & Dad. :lmao:

I never allowed them that joy to spare them the trauma (really) I felt and still feel when I found out he (Santa) wasn't real.

They have plenty of enjoyment during the holidays and were never deceived.

There is no easy let down (IMO) once you've been lied to. Same with the tooth fairy and easter bunny.

I can't wait to go sit on Santa's lap tomorrow. I'll be pulling off his fake beard.

I swore I would never lie to my kids about this type of thing, until I had kids. We have been trained to lie to our children about the Tooth Fairy, Santa and the Easter Bunny. Then we tell our kids never to lie. So for ten years or more we flat out lie and sneek around only for one day a snot nosed kid blows you out of the water.:bigwhoop:

Then I caved & I too have gone along with the charade but when asked I have always told my kids "That it's all in what you believe".They are in 3rd and 4th grade and while Santa still leaves an unopened gift or two for each under the tree and may a few more that are wrapped. It's more about the spirit of it all versus the cold hard truth.

Last year the oldest (4 at the time) asked mom why the presents from Santa and her were wrapped in the same paper. She said "Santa has mom help wrap the presents".

We wrap all the presents (although Santa has different paper now, just like when I was a kid), at least part of the fun is ripping the paper off the present. I remember watching Dad open his presents, ever so slowly and it took all I had to not help rip it off for him. (Yes I do that now too...)

As far as who gives the big/best present we haven't run into that yet, for the most part its fairly evenly split between us and Santa.

Grownup's open their presents slow, reason being is there are way less gifts for ourselves versus the piles for the kids. We savor each moment and remember our childhood all at the same time.
