Does Santa wrap his gifts?

I've asked ALL of mine if they were "mad" that I did the Santa thing. All four have said "no way" and agree to carry on the *magic* for their very young cousins...and they are having so much fun with it really.
It's tradition and that can be fun.

Really you were traumitized??? WOW  I never felt that way.

Yes. Completely, and I tore a little girl's hair out for telling me the truth. Not good. When my parents told me something was real I believed them. Shouldn't we?

I still believe in Jesus and God. NOBODY can take that away from me. They will know when they croak.

Lies SUCK.

Wenchy, I have heard many similar stories to yours. I guess it just depends on the child/person. Mine were ok with it. Some aren't.

We will all know when we croak. I just hope I'm right.

My daughter likes Christmas because she gives and gets gifts. Same with my son. One is an agnostic and one is a Christian.

You will not be damned if your children were damaged by your perpetuating the lie.

I think lying is wrong, but not a damnable offense.

This world is so screwed up. No wonder the young ones are all liberals, and believe everything should be handed to them on a silver platter.

On topic: A truckload of "Santa" etc gifts from years gone by were taken to the landfill today. Never used, broken, forgotten about, not cared about.

The waste is incredible. We do have several bags for charity/thrift stores...the rest was basically junk.

They mean well and get carried away with spending money on worthless stuff to wrap up and put under the tree.

The kids might ask for it and it's either broken or forgotten about in a few months.

I honestly don't worry about being "damned" because I told my children there was a Santa Claus. My kids are like yours in the fact that they have differing beliefs... what is, IS.

None though fault me for the "magic" of Santa. All say they enjoyed it and believed totally. Which does bring up something else??? Do they believe me now? On anything?

Yes.

I think there really is no "wrong" or "right" in this debate. It all depends on the child...and I'd hope most would know which way their own child would lean. Hope that makes sense.
