Does Santa wrap his gifts?

Well, you know, honestly - I'm glad I'm too poor to buy all 20+ nephews and nieces gifts, because I take a lot of time with things I choose for other people. Most kids have what they need and more than what they know what to do with. Nothing is relatively special. I only send a Christmas gift to one niece in OH who truly appreciates everything and everyone.

I honestly don't worry about being "damned" because I told my children there was a Santa Claus. My kids are like yours in the fact that they have differing beliefs... what is, IS.

None though fault me for the "magic" of Santa. All say they enjoyed it and believed totally. Which does bring up something else??? Do they believe me now? On anything?

Yes.

I think there really is no "wrong" or "right" in this debate. It all depends on the child...and I'd hope most would know which way their own child would lean. Hope that makes sense.

There isn't a right or wrong.

Taking that truckload to the dump clearing for the new was disgusting.

If you can afford it, go for it! If you think the landfills or your home can contain it all go for it.

I hate the materialism but still get my kids perishables (there's still Haloween candy to be consumed...it has a 3 day shelf life now) and if they really need/want something they will get that as well.My soon to be stepson asked for a football today (he really wants one and the old one is shot) I will gladly be the Momma Claus to get him the best available.

At his other home he will probably get 1K of gifts he doesn't even want.

I know he will love this.

Moderation.

I can almost smell the Roast Beast and Yorkshire Pudding: See all of my beloved family in front of me. Christmas is near.

I adore you.

You bring up some major points. I agree with some. I don't on others but I think we both feel pretty much the same way.

And here we are....

That for sure is true! My nephews and 2 neices probably think "why bother" but still. I do. I love the ones who appreciate. Those are the ones I go out of my way for...try to find the "perfect" gift. Doesn't mean expensive, you know?!

My new "son" this year will appreciate I think and that will make it so worthwhile. He has moved in with us (always been my boys best friend) and I will do him like my own. I'm excited.

Santa wraps gifts at our house and fills the stocking. Although I have to admit it seems like stocking stuffers aren't quite as inexpensive as they used to be. Any thoughts on creative stocking stuffers that won't break the bank and that won't be considered junk in a month or so? I did get the girls gift cards to Mc Donald's (they'll flip out cause we hardly ever go there) and hubby mentioned some scratch off tickets.

I like it that way and I also wouldn't want to worry about hiding wrapping paper or writing on it with handwriting they would recognize.
Those things tipped me off quickly when I was a kid. I knew well before mom told me. If I had my own kids, I'd still wrap the Santa ones but differently. Maybe even add a little slip of paper that says, "Wrapped by: Elf #32".

Santa doesn't wrap presents. Didn't when I was a kid either. We had to put our stocking where we wanted Santa to leave our gifts. I usually chose the couch & my brother the chair. If it was unwrapped Santa brought it, & if it was for both of us (games etc) they were unwrapped in front of the tree. The stuff from my parents was wrapped & under the tree. We do the same for my kids. Oh & Santa does the stockings too.

As a child our "big" gift was always from Santa and it was UNwrapped. We do the same with our three children.

:yeahthat: We do the same thing. Each of the goblins get a "big gift" (something they specifially we're just dying to get) from Santa. Those gifts are left unwrapped in front of the tree along with some cool unwrapped stuffing stuffers.
The rest of the gifts are wrapped and tagged from Mommy and Daddy. That old, fat guy in the red suit can't get all the credit for Christmas gifts!

I color coordinate by child...I have four so one has all red, one green, one blue, one purples,etc...all their gifts are wrapped in that one color. Many different themes but all one color per child.

:lmao: I do this too ..... each goblin gets their own wrapping paper to signify who the gift is for. This color coordination effort does two things: Saves on gift tags and makes gift sorting so much easier when it's time to open presents.

I normally wrap each of my childrens gifts in a destinctive "santa wrap" each child has his own wrap color green, red, gold, etc... so there are no name tags. The gifts from mommy & daddy are wrapped in a hodge podge and have hand written name tags.

Santa brings the majority of gifts, and all presents are wrapped-different paper for each kid. Stockings are usually small things they get year after year, and from Santa as well. We each get the kids 1 thing.

As far as the Santa thing, I think it's great for kids to have magic and use their imaginations for Christmas. I was a little disappointed when I found out, but I wasn't crushed. I would have rather been "lied" to than not had any magic for the holidays.

We have always wrapped each child in different paper no tags

Santa always tucked a doll in each bed with the stocking big gifts 1 or 2 were left unwrapped.

No presents were ever put under the tree till christmas eve except the ones to each other (brother and sisters)

Christmas eve you could have 1 present each and it was a pair of jammies

They are now 25, 23 and 20 and still look to get jammies, to wear christmas morning just bought 7 pairs 3 kids, husband, girlfriends and 1 grand baby
