Eggs

Never in my recollection, has this ever been a reason for increases in the price of eggs. As a mater of fact, I would wager that this past Christmas, "holiday demand", was far less than previous years due to the increased costs for everything, with people cutting back. It appears you are simply parroting the spin media.

I would also say the the avian bird flu fear porn is BS. Since there is no physical evidence for anyone to view the supposed 50+ million birds culled. Where are these culled birds? Where are the videos of their destruction as proof? In today's age, on the scale of these birds destruction, if there is no video, or pictorial proof, then it did not happen.
I do not agree as I am hearing from people who work at the MD Dept of Agriculture about how busy they are testing birds with the many reports they are getting of dying birds. The wild birds carry the bird flu everywhere sadly. All the infected bird has to do is poop when flying over a poultry farm and that poop gets tracked around and/or contaminates surrounding plants, worms, slugs, etc that the chicken/duck later eats and gets sick. A flock of just 100 wild birds can potentially spread a LOT of disease since birds tend to poop very frequently. Chickens poop on average every 30-45 minutes which is why they are used to play Chicken Sh_t Bingo LOL:

I do not doubt there is an avian flu. I question the testing, and the claims, of 10's of millions of chickens being infected, and thus needing destroyed. USDA-APHIS, like any governmental organization, is ripe for weaponization against the people.

If there are soooooo many wild birds/fowl supposedly carrying this bird flu and infecting chickens, why don't we see dead birds falling out of the sky, or laying dead in the yards of people's homes? Or dead ducks and geese floating dead in the water, or dead in farmers fields? And again, where is the proof? I, and I'm assuming others as well, do not want anecdotal evidence. I want prima facie evidence. Actual, verifiable, videos and pictures of the 50+ millions of chickens being destroyed/culled. And why is this happening all of a sudden now to such a high degree today, more so than in past years?

I do see dead birds laying around but assume predators would eat them pretty fast.

I have yet to see any dead birds, anywhere. I find if extremely funny in the link you provided, this, “Avian influenza does not affect poultry meat or egg products, which remain healthy and safe to eat and handle." So why kill the birds?

And what about the uncontrolled wild bird/fowl populations? These infected birds can just keep the cycle going by infecting more domesticated flocks. Avain flu can never be controlled.

And again, where are actual, verifiable, videos and pictures of the 50+ millions of chickens being destroyed/culled? You can provide links to official governmental narrative sites all day long. But without proof, they are meaningless.

Funny thing about cholesterol .... the body actually relies heavily on it for nearly everything to function properly. From keeping your brain operating at it fullest capacity, to maintaining the sheaths surrounding nerves, is also an antioxidant, strengthens the immune system, helps in hormone production, aides in proper digestion, essential to building cells, and so much more. And these buffoons want to eliminate it from our diets.

I think you can't go wrong ignoring what "they" say and living your life as suits you. 9 times out of 10 "they" are being paid to say the things they say, and none of it is based on real science.

FTC Urged to Crack Down on Egg Industry's 'Organized Theft'

Just before testifying at an open meeting of the FTC, Farm Action sent a letter to agency chair Lina Khan detailing its "concerns over apparent price gouging, price coordination, and other unfair or deceptive acts or practices by dominant producers of eggs such as Cal-Maine Foods, Rose Acre Farms, Versova Holdings, and Hillandale Farms, among others."

As Farm Action explained, "Egg prices more than doubled for consumers last year—going from $1.79 in December 2021 to $4.25 in December 2022 for a dozen large Grade A eggs."

Major egg producers and their allies have blamed surging prices on a "supply disruption" triggered by the deadliest outbreak of avian influenza in U.S. history, calling it "'act of God' type stuff," the letter notes.

Based on its analysis of publicly available industry data, however, Farm Action determined that while the avian flu outbreak killed roughly 43 million egg-laying hens nationwide in 2022, "its actual impact on the egg supply was minimal."

According to the letter:

After accounting for chicks hatched during the year, the average size of the egg-laying flock in any given month of 2022 was never more than 7-8% lower than it was a year prior—and in all but two months was never more than 6% lower. Moreover, the effect of the loss of egg-laying hens on production was itself blunted by "record-high" lay rates observed among remaining hens throughout the year. With total flock size substantially unaffected by the avian flu and lay rates between 1-4% higher than the average rate observed between 2017 and 2021, the industry's quarterly egg production experienced no substantial decline in 2022 compared to 2021.

Maybe the country ought to try a Week Without Eggs.

Once those damned things start to spoil, someone will change their mind.

I've never seen empty shelves or any indication of a SHORTAGE. I think it's all BS.
