Police Stopped Border Patrol From Entering Uvalde School, Officials Say

Initially, authorities reported that Border Patrol agents did not arrive at the school until 12:40 p.m., nearly an hour after the gunman entered the school and started firing multiple rounds of ammunition. The new report from officials claims the Border Patrol agents arrived at the elementary school much sooner but were held back from entering the building until 12:40 p.m., when they killed the shooter minutes later.

Parents have expressed frustration with law enforcement officials over how they handled the active shooter situation immediately after arriving on scene.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McGraw said during a Friday press conference that “it was not the right decision” for law enforcement to wait for tactical backup before entering the school to take out the shooter.

“The incident commander inside believed they needed more equipment and more officers to do a tactical breach of that point,” McGraw said, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

No, reread it. It wasn't a position about going in, it was about the use of that specific tool would be appropriate if "persons not hostile" had been used as a shield.

You really seem hung up on the word "hostage" and it seems that your use is predicated on whether or not demands were made. An equally valid definition for hostage is "one that is involuntarily controlled by an outside influence", which the teachers and students were.

Sorry, by "going in position" I was referring to the the debates stated starting point. The initial given conditions that both sides agree to.

They should have told the cops there was a brown person selling loosie cigarettes in there. They would have swarmed it immediately.

More people are shot and killed in Chicago each day, weekend than what happened in Uvalde Texas; most black Americans; why are the democrats & republicans playing bull crap politics? lets be serious!

Many many issues needs addressing in the society as we yes, deal with the gun access etc.:

-Home ownership, rent-to-own

-Mental health support; reducing the stigma and taboo around it

-drug use, weed, opioids

-fatherless homes, men not standing up and fathering their child, young person, AWOL; sidelining the father

-improper support of the mother who stays behind to raise the child, young person

-allowing the dark web and internet overtake your vulnerable child

-lack of faith, religious connection

-broken homes, we have to face this, there is a serious crisis when no father is there; lack of leadership in the home

-drop out of school, not going to school

-not proper oversight by parents and teachers of the children

-unhealthy lifestyles e.g. lack of proper nutrition etc.

-poor education system

-lack of being tough on crime

-the impact of lockdowns and schools closures on young children and people now showing up

-viewing too much social media that poisons the mind, the vulnerable mind

-broken borders and people getting into the US getting benefits Americans do not get

-incessant pandemic lockdown messages that are harming the population

-abuse of alcohol

-traumatic childhoods, bullying

-physical abuse and sexual abuse of children in the home

-racism

-lack of empowerment of teachers and elders to say something; we have to lean on side of safety

-the re-focus has to be by adults and teachers and all to ‘protect’ children FIRST

-schools are not safe at present so know it is not a safe environment, so treat it as such; position police there at this time

-increasing extra activities in school etc. to keep kids off the streets and engaged

-enhanced mentorship programs; role models paired to kids, especially troubled youth; apprenticeship programs

-proper healthcare, equity and improved access

So why hasn't Biden rushed to the scene .? No blacks were victims .? Holiday weekend .?

My guess would be too close to the border to not visit.

Can they cut the crap with the cops stood outside & did nothing. There were 19 cops inside the school trying to get into the classroom. What would sending 50 more in to stand by.

There is a timeline out where a teacher was outside when the kid was shooting at the funeral home. She called 911 but didn't close the door.

You know they were trying to get in? What is your source on that?

Last I heard as of Friday night was the HMFIC from the School District declared it a barricade situation which is why all 19 officers inside the building hunkered down for an hour.
