Elementary Schools Not Safe

That is why I asked. Some articles say she is dead, some say she is still alive. What is certain is that she was the first one he shot that day.
I read that the boys Mom has been sitting with her at the hospital after a shot to the face.

I just read a common sense piece that stated "If a journalism business cannot even confirm that someone is alive or dead with accuracy, that business should not be in the journalism business." :sshrug:

Power with Control
Cops are damned if they do, damned if they don't. So at this point all I can say is sorry that happened, hope it works out for you.

Works out for me? Not sure what that means.

Personally, I cant think of many things worth going to hell more than saving a school full of children. But we don't know that he chose not to shoot, or shot and it didn't work yet, do we?

I picture a 13 year old girl in pig tails with tears streaming down her face:bawl: saying this to her mother and storming off to her room to pout :drama:.

He was wearing just a plate carrier w/ no plate.

Ramos was fatally shot by law enforcement officers at the scene, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) said. Lt. Christopher Olivarez, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, said the gunman wore a vest used to store extra magazines — often used by tactical police units — without the armor plates that law enforcement officers typically wear.

Here's a Three-Word Policy That's Been Effective in Stopping School Shootings

School resource officers is not a new policy. Sandy Hook adopted it after Adam Lanza’s equally evil shooting in Newtown back in 2012. It’s backed by the National Rifle Association. It has a proven track record. For years, we’ve had stories of these brave officers stopping would-be school shooters. Does it stop all of them? No, some manage to pop off a few shots but the level of carnage is not catastrophic when SROs are present.

In 2018, a school shooting in Ocala, Florida was limited to only one student being injured thanks to a school resource officer (via CBS News):

A Florida school resource officer is being praised for quickly confronting the gunman during a shooting at a high school that injured one student ... The shooting happened … at Forest High School in Ocala, which was put on lockdown. The wounded student, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury to his ankle.
The suspect,19-year-old Sky Bouche, was quickly taken into custody by the school resource officer, Marion County Sheriff's Deputy James Long, officials said.
Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods said Long heard a loud bang about 8:39 a.m. and immediately rushed to the source of the sound. Within minutes, at about 8:42 a.m., Long reached the shooting scene and the shooter was in custody, officials said…

If I may ...
If I may ...

And of course now, it's the fault of men that is the problem. And you know damn sure well and good, that if the shooter was White, instead of Hispanic, the title to this article would be, "Our greatest public health crisis? The angry young White American male". You can oh so sense the salivation of the writer wanting to use the word "White". But the circumstance would not permit it, so, instead she bashes all men.

Approaching an officer on a school property, that's not punishment, thats self defense on the officers part. This isn't someone who coat flapped open exposing a pistol in a holster, this is a person with two rifles seeking access through the back door.

I thought I read that he didnt have plates. I dont know enough about body to know how much of a difference that makes though. I dont know that that first officer/s got shots off.
I heard or read that the first cops on the scene/inside had the no plates resulting in injury.

That’s extremely disturbing because every tactical training advisement these days is to immediately go in. Not wait.

One of the things it was pulled up in statistics moments ago was that 85% of these things… The killings all happen within five minutes. Time is critical.
