happy to be living
When my indoor feral was sedated to get her last Rabies vaccination, I also had her teeth cleaned - and her breath is MUCH improved.

In time I'll get the shelter kitty done too. Today I had the shelter kitty in to the vet for anal gland cleaning and ended up also with tape worm meds just in case (she had been ravaged by fleas before I got her) and has been scooting on her butt. She was not a happy camper at the vet's office at all. Poor baby was mad at me.

WoW. I did not realize cats needed their glands expressed like dogs do. Then again, I have never; in all my years of being owned by felines; seen a cat scoot across the floor!

Unless I'm mistaken, she's the first cat I recall scooting .... usually that's a dog thing in my memory. When my feral had impacted anal glands earlier this year, I saw her growling/yowling toward her back end .... so that was my clue to something being wrong with her.

My vet is holistic based, so needs a reason to treat. So he was willing to prescribe the tapeworm pills for the shelter kitty, but not my feral. I usually think when you treat one for parasites, you treat them all?
