I am thinking the parents just found out that it was another parent pretending to be that boy...and he was not real which caused a big ordeal.
as i read it at least, they found out approximately 6 weeks later that the boy wasn't real and that those neighbor parents had made him up. Thats why the parents of the girl trashed the foosball table they were holding for the other family.
This was a sad story but my views have pretty much been covered. The parents of the girl should be held responsible for allowing this "relationship" to continue. The mom who started the myspace page should be held responsible (but as far as i can tell, there is no way in the legal system for it to be done which is unfortunate). Finally, the girl was the one who let a simple little thing get to her enough to kill herself. If she let something so petty, from someone she didn't even know, allow this, then it was bound to happen anyway. She would have simply engaged in a real relationship with a boy at school or something, he'd have eventually broken up with her and she'd have been heartbroken and probably killed herself over that. Its unfortunate but, now this is going to get me grief..., possibly this is Darwinism at its finest? She wasn't cut out to handle the cruel abuse this world doles out, now she doesn't have to deal with it.
