$84 a month is plenty of money to buy:

4 loafs of bread...$5
20 packages of ramen noodles...$4
4lbs. of chicken...$10
3lbs. of ground beef....$8
1 jar peanut butter....$3
1 jar of jelly....$3
3 packages of hot dogs...$9
I could do better than that. Ditch the hotdogs and jelly - no nutritional value. No Ramen, for the same reason, and you can make it yourself homemade even cheaper than the 20 pks for $4.

Homemade soup goes a long way, as does spaghetti. Plain oatmeal is incredibly cheap and good nutrition. Steal sugar packets from the McDonalds.

That governor was whining about Progresso soup

Watch it
:hot: It is getting too heated in here. I need to go take a test at the college campus....you know, to get another degree to have more insurance to take care of my kids when my husband runs off so I don't make another "poor decision" in trusting my husband who showed no signs of being an ass. Is that right? Is that the best run-on sentence ever? :howdy:

It's been a lively chat! See you later. :howdy:

Again.... Until they could get on their feet... Temporary.... I don't have a problem with this. You and Jen KEEP putting words in my mouth. I have a problem with long term survival that is dependant on wellfare.
I took issue with your "choices" comment, not your "temporary" comment.

How about another :biteme:. I LOVE my kids enough that if I was unable to provide for them for an extended period of time that I would in face give them up so that they would not have to suffer for my poor choices. Too many children suffer for the poor choices of their parents. And news flash biatch; I'm about to take 6 kids so kiss my ass!

So the government would have to PAY SOMEONE to take care of them???
AYOOYFM?????

:yay: touche. i lived off of spaghetti growing up b/c my mother was left with two kids to take care of by herself and refused to have anyone else pay for her bad choices. she worked hard to get out of poverty and is a stronger woman for it. now a days everyone wants something for free. People made it through the depression by themselves, yet now people cry when they don't have the things that are not necessary. drives me crazy!

on a different, but similar note, i worked with a girl that actually had the nerve to come in and ask if she could have someone's baby to claim on her taxes...worthless POS. everyone is always looking for something for nothing.

you forgot milk for the baby, or diapers, or formula.....
Milk and formula should be covered by WIC, so you wouldn't spend food stamps on them.

Diapers are a one-time purchase. You buy two dozen cloth diapers and wash them, like our parents and grandparents did. And like I did when I was a young Army wife.

It's cause it makes sense to us considering it acts as it's own toilet paper on the way out thus saving even more money...

Why would the government have to pay for anything. There aren't private adoption agencies out there? Lest you forget these aren't "damaged" children due to an unstable upbringing; the chances of them being adopted is good if it came down to that. But if you want to get really nitty gritty, my sister has said a thousand times that if I ever croak she's getting my boys. Besides that I have a ton of friends that would never allow my children to just become wards of the state. I would ensure they went somewhere where they would be provided a better life if I was unable to care for them.

So with children that age was the mother working? If not, why unless the family was wealthy and in that case there should have certainly been assets to cash in on to support her family.

you're lucky that you have people around you that care enough to ensure your children's well being if you could not take care of them....luckier than most. and most of the time, if the children aren't infants, the chances of them being quickly adopted are low.
