Hence, the pentagram or upside down five point star that is part of Masonic symbols. And it is the pentagram that is used as the symbol of the Congressional Metal of Honor.

Did you know that the symbols of the Masons are laid out in the streets of Washington, D.C.? Did you know that the Masonic Temple in D.C. is exactly 13 blocks north of the exact center of the White House? There is a pentagram formed by the streets of Washington with the inverted point pointing south directly at the White House which is at the the tip of the southern point.

Washington, D.C. was originally surveyed by Masons. George Washington, as I remember it, was the youngest Mason inducted. He was inducted at the age of twenty.
A lot of religious art has pagan symbolism, but that doesn't mean that the people that belong to the religion believe in paganism, just that the artist did, and was trying to pull the wool over the church's eyes. Could be the same for the construction of DC...

It is the 33rd degree, the last degree (many don't attain it), where a Mason learns that Lucifer is the highest god of Masonry.
If you're not a mason, how would you know? Not trying to be rude, just curious. If it's not really a secret, what's the big deal about raising to the 33rd degree?

Oh my. Is the "star" solely the symbol of Satan? Damn our bad luck for using it so much if it is. Does one need to repent after saying the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag? Was Charles Thompson, Secretary of the Congress in 1777, a Freemason too as he stated that stars are symbolic of the "heavens and the divine goal which man has aspired to since time immemorial"?

Here is what the Congressional Medal of Honor Society says about the design. http://www.cmohs.org/medal/medal_symbolism.htm

Well, sure that's what they say. What, are they going to just go, "Yep, you caught us - the Medal of Honor is an homage to Satan"?

In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. And the Earth was without form, and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And Satan said, "It doesn't get any better than this."

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And God said," Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit," and God saw that it was good.

And Satan said, "There goes the neighborhood."

And God said, "Let us make Man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle, and over all the Earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the Earth." And so God created Man in his own image; male and female created he them. And God looked upon Man and Woman and saw that they were lean and fit.

And Satan said, "I know how I can get back in this game."

And God populated the earth with broccoli and cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Woman would live long and healthy lives.

And Satan created McDonald's. And McDonald's brought forth the 99-cent double cheeseburger. And Satan said to Man, "You want fries with that?" And Man said, "Supersize them." And Man gained 5 pounds.

And God created the healthful yogurt, that woman might keep her figure that man found so fair.

And Satan brought forth chocolate. And Woman gained 5 pounds.

And God said, "Try my crispy fresh salad."

And Satan brought forth Ben and Jerry's. And Woman gained 10 pounds.

And God said, "I have sent thee heart-healthy vegetables and olive oil with which to cook them."

And Satan brought forth chicken-fried steak so big it needed its own platter. And Man gained 10 pounds and his bad cholesterol went through the roof.

And God brought forth running shoes and Man resolved to lose those extra pounds.

And Satan brought forth cable TV with remote control so Man would not have to toil to change channels between ESPN and ESPN2. And Man gained another 20 pounds.

And God said, "You're running up the score, Devil." And God brought forth the potato, a vegetable naturally low in fat and brimming with nutrition.

And Satan peeled off the healthful skin and sliced the starchy center into chips and deep-fat fried them. And he created sour cream dip also. And Man clutched his remote control and ate the potato chips swaddled in cholesterol. And Satan saw and said, "It is good." And Man
went into cardiac arrest.

And God sighed and created quadruple bypass surgery.

And Satan created HMOs.

Lot of interesting stuff here.

To play devils advocate here, if our founding fathers were full of free masons does that make the constituition wrong? Does that mean Nazi Germany was actually the good guys? What else have the freemasons infiltrated? If they can do what some claim they can couldn't they have "revised" the bible over the years to suit their needs and the true word was actually something different?

Hmmmm, I have a family chalk full of freemasons. :yikes:

Crud, if they were working for Satan, you'd think they'd have risen in prestige, but alas they're still lowly coal miners and ministers.

But now that my interest is piqued, I think I'll have to do some information gathering since I'll be with a bunch of them for a wedding over the weekend. See if the one who's a minister is still freemason and if the conspiracy theories are true. :yay:

And if Billy Graham secretly worships Satan, then that just blows, he's my favorite religious person in the world. :bawl:

Sleuth it sounds like you'd have a better time being a boy scout troop leader :yay: seriously, volunteering your time to an organization like that would be much better spent IMO.

They'll tell me they will. Well probably not. I really don't think my were ever anything important in the freemasons, they're all poor. BUT, it could all be a cover. I bet they are the Grande Masters, or would they be called the Big Poombahs.

btw, I think I'm immune to the almond tea, they've been feeding it to me all my life. I've built up a resistence :jet: :lmao:

I've dealt with the Freemasons for many, many years and a better group of individuals I've never met. I've heard a lot of the gossip and rumors about their supposed ties to the occult  but that's all it is. The Freemasons do a heck of a lot for charity (Shriner's Hospitals, anyone?) and I know firsthand about the work they do in DC.

Claims like that are so irrational that it's both funny and sad. Sounds like '60s radio preacher Billy James Hargis, who used to claim that the Communists invented rock 'n 'roll.

Among other things
I know there are enough masons in the world to feel free in saying a few of them participate or at least read these forums. None of them are coming foreword to answer any of these questions and or myths about the organization. Does that tell you something? It tells me they don't care what we think so the answer to the original question is: Ask one if you want to know.

I love this stuff! It satisfies my inner conspiracy theorist. But I have to honest - I don't believe a word of it because I don't believe in Satan and witchcraft and other such nonsense.

When I was in high school, my girlfriend had a set of tapes by a guy named John Todd (not sure on that name, I'll have to call her to confirm). Anyway, he was a former Satanist who found God and went around giving talks about the Illuminati and the Masons and how the highest branches of our government are controlled by Satan. That was the first time I ever really looked at a dollar bill. :yikes:

He also talked about various celebrities and entertainers that received their fame through Satanic means.

Anyway, he was assasinated a few years after he started giving his lectures and gaining publicity, which kind of freaked me out. We listened to those tapes over and over - they were simply fascinating.
Pick up a map of D.C. You can easily pick out the Masonic symbols if you know what to look for. The compass and square are centered on the Mall.

As for George Washington being the earliest Mason inducted, I remember where I read that. His Blue Lodge was Potomac Lodge in Georgetown. I know that because my mother was in Mizpah Chapter of the Order of Easter Star which met in Potomac Lodge. The lodge used to be above the stores on the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street across from Riggs Bank; it may still be there. They had a memorabilia room which had George Washington's gavel and apron and a bunch of other items on display in glass cases. I saw all this stuff as a teen. Later, as I understand it, the gavel and stuff was put in a safe deposit box in Riggs Bank.
