To those who complain about gas prices, go pay Europe's prices and then complain.
No sh!t, shipping that gas back here is really expensive.

Also from Sperling's site:
Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington criticized his department for routinely underreporting crime over the past eight years, and warned that Atlanta is actually the most dangerous city in America.
Sounds like paradise in the making -- move from one big crime region to another.

Just cut to the chase.
Explain why it's not.
I don't have the answers Toxick. But I do know if we did not have to rely on are oil from the middle east we would not being paying these prices for gas. ANWR...lets drill some holes!

Maybe we just need to peg the price of food exports to the price of oil imports?

All I know is that if something doesn't happen with gas prices soon, I'm going to have to hock my flame-thrower.

was paying near $400/month just on car gas in Japan, over $60/tank on my twin turbo guzzler. I wanted to laugh when i heard of the "expensive gas" in the states when i was paying over twice of the huge cars driven there. i guess japan wasnt too bad after looking at the list. was hoping it wouldnt go up in the states when I came back, but, oh well, might as well get over the gas prices ahead of time

as far as recent world prices go per gallon for those who care (obviously some dont):

Netherlands Amsterdam $6.48
Norway Oslo $6.27
Italy Milan $5.96
Denmark Copenhagen $5.93
Belgium Brussels $5.91
Sweden Stockholm $5.80
United Kingdom London $5.79
Germany Frankfurt $5.57
France Paris $5.54
Portugal Lisbon $5.35
Hungary Budapest $4.94
Luxembourg $4.82
Croatia Zagreb $4.81
Ireland Dublin $4.78
Switzerland Geneva $4.74
Spain Madrid $4.55
Japan Tokyo $4.24

Are gas prices in those countries so high because their governments tax the #### out of it to fund retarded dalliances with socialism?

Like that's going to work......they'll just buy it elsewhere like Canada. The domestic farmers who export food will just lose money since their products will not sell.

One in the same in a lot of the cases. Socialist governments tax the hell out of fuel and a lot of other things. A lot of those near the top are welfare states. The taxes pay for their medical/dental, education, social security, etc.

So saying our gas prices are low compared to said countries is moot. Plus their population centers aren't as spread out as ours, they use mostly public transportation.

You do realize that Tokyo is the most expensive city to live in the world don't you? Also why in the world would you pay $400 a month in gas unless you were making frequent trips with too much stuff to carry on the trains. Most people in Tokyo use the trains....it's cheaper (and that's not counting the parking fees you'll pay in Tokyo) and more reliable. $400 a month, I guess you were trying to pretend you were still in the U.S. driving everywhere. Only time I drove was to work....it was on the extreme other side of base, to the commisary, and to drop off and pick up people at the train station. Once in a while we made shopping trips to the other larger bases in the area.

If someone gave me a block of cheese squirming with maggots, I'd complain.

Yet in Italy, casu marzu is a much sought after delicasy.

Just because it's commonplace and accepted in Europe, doesn't mean that I have to like it, tolerate it or not complain about it.
