Half of parenting seems to be just dumb good luck. Good thing God is watching over.

Smith - So your kid is one of those pansy-assed whiner's that I see all the time. Do you keep your kids in a bubble when they go out in public? Was that you at the tree lighting on Friday telling your kid that "you'd prefer it if he didn't touch anything" in the petting zoo because "you don't know where it's been?"

Knowingly taking your kid to the hairdressers while they have lice is wrong. But there's nothing you can do now. Call your doctor if the NIT or RID or whatever the hell it is isn't working.

Nope, but why should I answer your questions and you not answer mine. Being a ##### will get you nowhere.
Actually this is incorrect. Several people have become quite popular solely by being #####es. :lmao:

You would be surprised the number of parents that bring their children to the salon knowing they have lice. When I was a hairdresser and we found lice, they were ask to leave and things had to be sanitized with bleach, including the floor. I felt sorry for the kids but you gotta do what's best. I recently saw or heard of something to get rid of lice, I want to day it was some sort of light??

Ehesef, don't confuse me with BritUSA. I personnally would not take my child to a hairdressers if they had head lice. Having boys, I would have shaved their heads. I also believing in exercising the immune system with plenty of dirt and germs. Heavy metals and insecticides, by choice, I would not expose my children to if given safe alternatives. Do what you want with your kids, I could care less. I'm addressing unsafe advice for the concerned parents who might care about the poisons. Since we are being exposed everyday and you can't avoid it, why add? Hope you have have health insurance when your kids have a reaction and I'm not footing part of the welfare bill.

Just for info.. Lice like clean hair, and that's not to say don't wash your kids hair but..

The beginnig of the school year is the worst for lice infestations, as a preventative I used to rinse my childrens hair once a week with vinegar.. They don't like the acidic residue the vinegar leaves.

The town I came from lice infestations were the norm the first couple of months, so I started doing the rinse once a week (or more often if I got the "Lice Letter" form the school) and no more problems.

Careful what you wish for. She might offer to do you for free.
I am Very shocked to see that people on this forum are so cruel. Have any of you ever made a mistake and realized it after the fact? Or are we all perfect? I think not.
Britusa admitted to making a mistake and asked for advise. Instead of bashing her you could have either helped or didn't your mother ever teach you if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. Well, of course she didn't or you wouldn't have been so crude.
I fully agree with Brittusa not releasing the hairdresser on this forum because if you are so concerned about the reputation of the hair salon or the hair dresser then it was wise to keep it to her self and not for all to read.
I am somewhat new to Maryland and have asked for help and have nice and respectful comments but I also know several people come on here and many of you think it is funny to direct people the wrong way because they are new.
Well, I will thank those that have helped and for further information I will go elsewhere. Unfortuntley it is too hard to determine if someone is on the up and up.

Cut the kids hair OFF. It'll grow back. It's just hair yet you let her suffer the itch of head lice and knowingly exposed a salon to it.

Some children's parents...:duh:

She didn't admit to making a mistake, she said "I know that was wrong of me." No mistake made. She knew it was wrong. A MISTAKE would be if you taken your kid to a salon and then discovered AFTER the visit the child had lice. WHOOPS. That is a mistake. Taking a child with lice to a hairdresser knowing that the child had lice and that more people could get infected is not a "mistake." I forget. Did she TELL the hairdresser the child had lice?

Get off your throne. TIA.

I need to get mine cut this week and now I don't want to. But I NEED to. The very, very least Brit could do is call the Health Department and tell them what she did so they can go check the place out.
