A friend posted about this on Facebook - so I followed the link to the Ridge Hardware Facebook page and I believe I uncovered the problem.

TPD - on several occasions you may have offended numerous Karens and the ood doctor Mooster.
Advertising you had TRUMP Flags for sale.
Shame SHAME on you.

Is there a need for signs at the health department? I'm pretty sure that they already closed to the public and only do in-person business via appointment, otherwise you have to call or email them.

They are closed to the public.

Calvert County's health dept is open for certain things. I believe they have someone sitting in there with hand sanitizers and directing them where to go if they have appts there.

Still, the building and the office needs to have a sign. It's not right that they're holding businesses in violation of some inane mandated rule that is not even a legal regulation, and threatening them at gunpoint with jail time and fines.

Not according to the executive order. The EO states
EO said:
VI. Government Buildings and Facilities with Large Occupancy or Attendance.
a. State and local government buildings and facilities with an expected occupancy or attendance of more than 10 people shall:
i. Promptly and conspicuously post in the building or facility a copy of the MDH recommendations for social distancing; and
ii. Provide all occupants and attendees with the capability to wash their hands.
b. A copy of this Order shall be made available to all occupants or attendees at any State or local government building and facility with an expected occupancy or attendance of more than 10 people.

I'd have to assume there are more than 10 people working in the Health Dept..no? Or are you pointing out that there is no reference to masks? That's interesting....
Yes, in reference to "Masks Required" signage.

It may very well not even be anyone that was in the store, I haven't been in his store for a few years and I knew everything going on from it being posted on here.

I only make it to Ridge a few times a year.

So the SMCHD can go in person to "inspect" Ridge Hardware to ensure "compliance" but at a nursing home they did a virtual inspection and basically took their word for it? UFB!

Ha ha haa...that's rich. The Health Dept went to great lengths to explain to me how their great system of compliance inspections is "complaint driven". To which I responded how quaint it was that they gave such powers of personal destruction to anonymous Karens with an axe to grind. I mentioned how well that "complaint driven" approach had worked to subdue the masses in post-revolution Russian, East Germany, etc etc. Hell..make sure you get the kids involved too..encourage them to rat out their parents for "non-conforming behaviors"".
