I was in the kitchen doing dishes, so I didn't hear the whole segment, but Laura Ingram brought up getting the USPS back in business for all the affected areas. People rely on the USPS to get their voting ballots. What if that doesn't happen in time for the election?

There might be other ways than ground. Helicopter into the local area, use drones for the end delivery. But seeing how so many people are displaced, no way they can all be found. Maybe an online system at a centralized location via Starlink.

That's a good idea.

For your consideration ...

In me saying what's next, there is no intention of belittling the situation or the people in the hurricane destroyed areas. But if people, everywhere, regardless of where they live, were to prepare, or "prep", for these sort of natural disasters, or of those man made, people would be able get through such hardship and stressful times much easier until services are restored.

Are we, here, immune from these type of natural disasters? No, we are not. Preparation is key to surviving bad events. All should take heed and acquire and inventory what they think they might need, to the best of their ability, in case disaster should strike here.

And about elements of the 82nd not being activated to provide relief and support? Our government is infested with DEI, and has been for quite a while, from the top down, and with deviants, perverts, and degenerates. They could care less about helping and assisting Americans unless it can somehow benefit and enrich them. And as we can all observe, government, no matter what they say, should never, ever, be relied upon for any type of support after any disaster.

It comes down to people caring for themselves and their families, and assisting their neighbors. The true grit kind of people. The true grit that forged this Nation through great hardships.

As an aside. I'm still waiting for international support from all those countries we have assisted with their respective disasters in the past to start to come forward and provide foods, water, medicines, etc.. You know, as a form of solidarity?
It doesn't matter how much you prepare when all the crap you prepare and all your prepper neighbors and the infrastructure is GONE!

Has anyone been able to find rain totals for Florida? I ask because I’m starting to see Floridians question how a category 4 can come ashore and not drop any rain until after it was a few miles inland. They are saying Florida got storm surge damage from wind but not rain. 🤔

President Trump Launches Fundraising Campaign to Aid Americans Devastated by Hurricane Helene — Raises Over $1 Million in Less Than Two Hours

As the Category Four storm leaves a path of destruction over 500 miles wide across several Southeastern states, more than 100 people have reportedly lost their lives, and millions are left without power.

But while the Biden administration fumbles in its response, President Trump is taking swift action to provide relief where it’s needed most.

As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Trump received a briefing on the catastrophic hurricane in Valdosta, Georgia, where he’s actively coordinating efforts to aid Americans affected by the storm.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris seems more interested in playing politics than providing actual help.

Harris, who claimed on social media to be “in constant contact with state and local officials to ensure communities have the support and resources they need,” was caught in yet another embarrassing gaffe.

In a photo she posted on X, she is shown wearing earphones, supposedly on a call with FEMA and local governors. But sharp-eyed observers immediately pointed out that her earphones weren’t even plugged into her phone.

It’s no wonder Trump isn’t waiting around for the Biden-Harris administration to take charge.

In a statement to the press on Monday morning, Trump blasted the White House’s unresponsiveness, saying: “They’re having a very hard time getting the President on the phone; he won’t get on, and of course, the Vice President, she’s out someplace campaigning, looking for money.”

Memories of Hurricane Katrina [Updated]

Hurricane Helene has devasted a wide swath of the Southeast, especially portions of North Carolina. Of course this has nothing to do with the government. A hurricane is what used to be known, quaintly, as an act of God.

But some of us remember with bitterness how the Democratic Party press blamed President Bush for Hurricane Katrina, and used that absurd narrative to destroy Bush’s second term. The idea of holding presidents responsible for hurricanes was always ridiculous, and it has never been repeated, although the Democrats did make a halfhearted run at blaming President Trump for Hurricane Maria, which hit Puerto Rico.
But at least one reporter wondered whether Joe Biden had some role in the devastation wrought by Helene:

At the end of the press conference, which was interrupted by his frequent coughs, the president grew defensive when a reporter pressed him on who was in command over the weekend to direct hurricane response. Biden spent the weekend at his beach home in Delaware.
The heated exchange happened at the White House after Biden concluded his remarks and turned to leave the Roosevelt Room.
“And the hurricane. Mr. President, why weren’t you and Vice President Harris here in Washington commanding this this weekend?” a reporter yelled as the president exited.
“I was commanding it,” Biden retorted from the doorway. “I was on the phone for at least two hours yesterday and the day before as well. I command it. It’s called a telephone and all my security people.”
Biden turned again to leave as the reporter began to ask, “Is it not important for the country to see?” The president left, and the door closed mid-question.

Response to emergencies like hurricanes is carried out overwhelmingly by state and local authorities who are on the scene, not by the federal government. Happily, no one at any level of government was waiting for instructions from the decrepit Joe Biden, calling in from his vacation home in Delaware.

Americans Coming Together: The Silver Lining in a Hurricane's Cloud

Hurricane Helene brought massive rainfalls and flooding at unprecedented levels, and from northern Georgia to the Southern Appalachians, to Western North Carolina, and parts of Eastern Tennessee, roads have been washed away, entire cities have been leveled, and populations devastated.

But had it not been for concerned citizens and loved ones, and some citizen journalists posting on X, the rest of the country would have been left in the dark. Up until this morning, the legacy media has all but ignored the destruction and never questioned when the worst of the weather started on Friday, why President Joe Biden was sunning himself at Rehoboth Beach, DE or why Vice President and selected Democrat nominee Kamala Harris was schmoozing with her donors in California, all while people lost their homes, their communities, and their lives.

From some reports on Sunday, despite federal emergency declarations being issued, FEMA had not even been activated. Not that they would have been much use at that point.

The One Video People Need to See About What Is and Is Not Going on in Western NC Post-Helene

As RedState has reported, the damage left behind by Hurricane Helene was nothing short of devastating for many communities in the southeast.

Western North Carolina was particularly hard hit by what was left of Helene, with massive amounts of rain that overwhelmed lakes and streams and caused widespread destruction. At least 35 have been confirmed dead with 600 said to be unaccounted for in Buncombe County as of this writing.

Viral video clips circulating on social media show roads that have been washed away, interstates that partially partially collapsed, businesses completely flooded, and homes and vehicles being swept away.

After everything settles, will they put up a "forwarding tombstone" for the previous occupants new location?

The president’s continued deterioration is more than a curiosity. Those near him knew his absence of mind could affect his performance in the event of a crisis — and a crisis is now upon us.

Hurricane Helene cut a 600-mile swath of devastation across the American southeast. Communities from Florida’s A30 to the Smokey Mountains have been devastated. Thousands are without power and homeless. As of this writing, nearly 100 Americans were killed by the storm and the ensuing inland flooding.

The White House insists the president is on the case. “The White House says Biden was briefed Sunday night and made calls to state and local government officials in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina,” one report read. “The president is now directing the Federal Emergency Management Agency to assess what it needs to send relief to isolated communities.” Biden plans to deliver public remarks surrounding his response to the disaster later today.

If I remember correctly with Katrina, initially the Fed could not come in and just take over. FEMA resources had to be requested by State or Local authorities. The problem was neither the Mayor of Nola or the Governor of LA wanted to hand over authority to the Fed. Fed regulations were that when they come in, they are in charge. Maybe someone else can confirm.

See what we mean?

Gross. Vile. Evil. Disgusting. Repugnant. Stinky. Stanky. Appalling. Contemptible. Depraved. Despicable. Disgraceful. Horrid. Immoral. Miserable. Nasty. Noxious. Repulsive. Revolting. Shocking. Sleazy. Ugly. Vicious. Vular.

Notice they used a woman of color for the feature image on the article. Yeah, that really sucks too, shame on them. And why is the Left so determined to divide people by preference even after a catastrophic weather event like Helene? We just don't get it.

Oh, and of course, she shut down the replies to her post.

From The19th:

Climate change makes hurricanes more destructive by increasing rainfall and storm surge, and some research has linked the rapid intensification of hurricanes like Helene to warming ocean waters.
LGBTQ+ people and women face unique needs after climate disasters that are often ignored by federal disaster response. LGBTQ+ people are twice as likely to be displaced after a disaster and have a harder time accessing recovery resources. Many of the largest organizations that offer relief post hurricanes are faith-based, and some have discriminated against same-sex couples and transgender people seeking shelter or recovery assistance.
After a climate disaster, there are also significant hurdles in accessing reproductive health care, including contraception and abortion and supplies like menstrual hygiene products.

Yeah, we're sure women are really worried about condoms and abortions right now while they're searching for loved ones and worrying about how they're going to find drinking water, food, gas, and shelter.

Tiktoker goes on unhinged conspiracy rant claiming that God sent hurricanes to destroy sundown towns because they were planning to incite a global race war and prevent Kamala from winning the election.
