Hurricane Milton

I haven’t seen any news today concerning Milton. Was it as bad as they hyped it or did they cry wolf when there was only a labradoodle? My friend in Deland FL said he had no power and a bit of debris laying around but nothing significant.

More damage and some deaths from tornadoes on the eastern side, looks like the storm surge wasn't nearly what they expected.

Nieces in Lakeland and Orlando are safe..a tree uprooted at Niece#1's Orlando home, but did not hit a house. Lakeland nieces have their power back, Orlando niece never lost power.

Tons of places have issues, though. The storm surges hit some of those barrier islands like Siesta Key, Clearwater Beach, and even around Tampa... all had some bad flooding. I think the west coast flooding was also horrible in some areas! South Daytona, for example. There was a record 126 Tornado warnings from this Hurricane - which are really not predictable until they are, and were very destructive.

Scouring the ends of the internet for bull crap to pay today are we?
Nope, it’s just finally the truth about this POS is out there and easy to find.

I didn’t search for it, it’s all over twitter today, lots of angry folks who donated to this criminal are quite enraged about it.

Two frequent posters were supporting this criminal, I was just making sure everyone here understood his background.

If folks want to continue to cheer him on, so be it, there is no floor to who this forum would endorse.

I just spent Thursday, and part of Friday driving from Maryland to Savannah, Ga. area. Still a very large amount of what I imagine is storm responders heading to Florida. Multiple convoys of Polecats, Bucket trucks, Military vehicles and private damage restoration trucks. Duke, Dominion, Asplundh, Servpro, Penn Line, National Guard. The drive was like a giant Inch Worm. 75 mph for a half hour to a dead stop, then slowly passing another convoy of slow moving utility or military vehicles. These people were heading down from Maine, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Virginia, North and South Carolina. Between Helene, and Milton the NC, SC, and VA crews, must have been working for several weeks straight, I assume these are replacements heading in to relieve the crews already in Florida.

A FEMA supervisor told workers in a message to “avoid homes advertising Trump” as they canvassed Lake Placid, Florida to identify residents who could qualify for federal aid, internal messages viewed by The Daily Wire reveal. The supervisor, Marn’i Washington, relayed this message both verbally and in a group chat used by the relief team, multiple government employees told The Daily Wire.

The government employees told The Daily Wire that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags were skipped from the end of October and into November due to the guidance, meaning they were not given the opportunity to qualify for FEMA assistance. Images shared with The Daily Wire show that houses were skipped over by the workers, who wrote in the government system messages such as: “Trump sign no entry per leadership.”

One thing I've noticed over my years working on contracts with various govt agencies, is that, other than military or sciences, FED agencies are overrun with Dem upper management. I haven't worked on a contract in quite a few years so that may have changed, but I doubt it.
